The Okay Witch and the Hungry Shadow: Exploring the Dark Side of Magic

By admin

The okay witch and the hungry shadow Once upon a time, in a small village named Willowbrook, there lived a young and curious witch named Emily. Emily was not your typical witch - she wasn't mischievous or evil. In fact, she was quite the opposite. Emily was always trying to find ways to use her magic to help others. One gloomy evening, as Emily was experimenting with a new spell, a hungry shadow suddenly appeared in her cozy cottage. The shadow was large and intimidating, causing Emily to jump in surprise.

Everything else is nice and well built. It will last a long time given proper care.

The gimmicks are very hard to work and while I don t want to give away secrets here, let us just say I am afraid the gimmicks will break after just a short time of use. Answering your question Tennispro Yes, you can turn it upside down and shake it if you will, but you want to make sure that the compartment inside is full of popcorn and well compress, no kernels with them so it is quiet and it doesn t sound.

The shadow was large and intimidating, causing Emily to jump in surprise. But as she looked closer, she noticed that the shadow had a sad and empty expression. Curiosity sparked within Emily, and she couldn't help but approach the shadow cautiously.

Just watched the video. nice idea but I wouldn't show the inside. just turn it upside down. It's really obvious that the "bottom" is 3/4 of the way up the inside of the box.

I caught that as well. I would think that it would have to be held close to a mike on stage to hear the popping sound. Hope someone can give us a review.

This is George Iglesias from Twister Magic and thanks for your interest in this product.I hope the next comments can solve any of your questions or doubts.

Harv: You are right it is not necessary to show the inside of the box just turn it upside down, but for most magicians it is important to show the inside and even if you do it, nobody will tell.

I create this trick a few years ago and have been playing with this trick for a long time. I can assure nobody will point the depth of the box, it never happen to me once in hundreds of performances. The audience don't know what is coming and it is so overwhelmed by the effect and the sound that you always pull great reactions and smiles from them, no questions about it. And if you are performing for kids you will be the king of the party. Its amazing how they relate to popcorn, how much they love it and how cool they think you are by being able to appear it with magic.

Fantastic: The sound comes from a sound module inside of the box. If you are performing on stage, yes you have to put the box close to your mic to be able to hear it. If you are performing parlor magic, the sound of the box will be easily hear by everybody, even if they are talking. You just have to be in a room al the sound will propagate. Be aware that high ceilings kills the eco and sound so, if you are in a hotel under high ceilings, then use the mic or you can always have a sound effect ready to play in your sound system at the time of performance.

I hope this can help, please do not hesitate in contact us with any questions.

Well I just ordered this so I will report on it when I get it. Seems like a nice effect for shows although I might actually try it in a bar or resturant walk around gig (after all I might get hungry walking around). I assume, George, in turning this upside down you can't shake it or everything might fall out? We'll see.

I just ordered it as well. I plan on using it during an upcoming stage gig in early November. It seems to me to be a fast opening effect. Will keep you informed as well.

Answering your question Tennispro: Yes, you can turn it upside down and shake it if you will, but you want to make sure that the compartment inside is full of popcorn and well compress, no kernels with them so it is quiet and it doesn't sound. In order to do that you just have to hold the box and apply pressure and the flap will not go down.

Any more reviews? Does it come with any eletronic device? Is it easy to change the battery for the sound device?

Posted: Oct 6, 2009 07:25 pm

Yes, it comes with an electronic sound module, so when you push the button you generate the real popcorn sound from inside of the box.

Battery have to be replaced after a 1000 hits, so unless you perform it more than a 1000 times you will never runout of battery. Anyway, we offer a replacement service in case that happen.

Posted: Oct 7, 2009 10:12 am How to clean the inner part of box? Posted: Oct 7, 2009 12:23 pm

You can clean it with a humidified soft cloth, since it all the interior is recovered with plastic. Howevere I suggest you to use normal popcorn for the trick instead of the buttered popcorn, that will leave more grease in the interior.

My friend show me this one,the idea is awasome, but I regret have to say the gimmick is very difficult to operate.

I've used mine several times, it is a cute effect. The sound of the popcorn 'popping' is a little bit low but putting it near a mike cures that problem. I have no problems working it at all, it is very visual.

I normally do not give reviews but I received mine and I have to say I am very disappointed in it. The gimmicks are very hard to work and while I don't want to give away secrets here, let us just say I am afraid the gimmicks will break after just a short time of use.

Bottom line and this is for me personally as others may feel differently. I will probably end up not using it and do not think it is particularly well-made.

The magic is not in our sleights and illusions, but instead in our ability to bring love and joy. Posted: Feb 4, 2010 03:17 am

Revmike:
I appreciate your review more than any others because you don't normally post a review. This seals it for me, and I was on the fence. Thanks for the honest critique.

I agree .The construction is poorly designed and I can not believe that it will hold up over a period od time. Do not purchaace from George < as I did,His dealers sell product for over $20.00 less then his price.I wrote him and he did not reply>

When I saw an amazing Prime Day sale on Amazon, I decided it was worth trying. I purchased this model. This is a fairly inexpensive thing and I figured it was worth a try!
The okay qitch anc the hungty shadow

"Who are you?" she asked, her voice filled with concern. The shadow hesitated for a moment before speaking, revealing a deep and melancholic tone. "I am the Hungry Shadow," it whispered. "I am always hungry, but I cannot be fed." Emily's kind heart immediately felt for the Hungry Shadow, and she knew she had to find a way to help it. She began researching ancient texts and consulting wise witches from faraway lands. Each advised her that the only solution was to find the magical Pulsating Orb, which had the power to satisfy any hunger. Determined, Emily embarked on a daring adventure to find the Pulsating Orb. She traveled through enchanted forests, climbed treacherous mountains, and braved dark and mysterious caves. Along the way, she encountered riddles, traps, and dangerous creatures, but her bravery and determination saw her through. Finally, after months of searching, Emily found herself face to face with the Pulsating Orb. It was a magnificent crystal, emanating a brilliant glow, as if it held the secrets of the universe. Trembling with anticipation, she carefully approached the orb and channeled her magical energy into it. As the energy surged through her, a powerful wave of light burst forth from the orb, enveloping the Hungry Shadow. Emily watched in awe as the shadow's sad expression transformed into one of contentment and satisfaction. The Hungry Shadow was finally fed, and its hunger was no more. From that day forward, the Hungry Shadow became Emily's loyal companion. Together, they used their magic to bring joy and happiness to the village of Willowbrook. The villagers marveled at the transformation of the once-hungry shadow and saw Emily as a true hero. In the end, Emily's kindness and determination not only saved the Hungry Shadow but also taught her a powerful lesson about empathy and the magic of helping others. And so, the okay witch and the once-hungry shadow lived happily ever after, spreading love and light wherever they went..

Reviews for "Embracing your Inner Witch: Lessons from the Okay Witch and the Hungry Shadow"

1. Sarah - 1/5 stars - I really did not enjoy reading "The Okay Witch and the Hungry Shadow." The story felt disjointed and the characters lacked depth. The plot was weak and predictable, leaving me feeling unsatisfied. The writing style did not engage me, making it difficult for me to continue reading. Overall, I found the book to be disappointing and would not recommend it.
2. John - 2/5 stars - "The Okay Witch and the Hungry Shadow" was an okay read, but it didn't captivate me like I had hoped. The pacing was off, with slow sections that seemed to go on forever and then rushed resolutions that left me wanting more explanation. The humor also fell flat for me, as the jokes felt forced and didn't add to the story. Unfortunately, this book didn't live up to my expectations.
3. Emily - 2/5 stars - I had high hopes for "The Okay Witch and the Hungry Shadow," but it fell short for me. The characters were one-dimensional and lacked complexity, making it hard for me to relate or care about their journey. The plot also felt repetitive and dragged on in certain parts. While the illustrations were charming, they couldn't save the book from its lackluster story. It just wasn't my cup of tea.
