I ended up having to buy a different brand of magnetic disks that were much stronger and worked much better.

I followed the instructions carefully, cleaned the surface thoroughly, and applied the adhesive as directed, but they just kept coming loose. It was extremely frustrating and I ended up having to use double-sided tape to keep them in place. Even then, they didn't hold my phone securely and would often fall off at the slightest bump. I would not recommend these magnetic disks to anyone.
