UPDATE as of 19 Sept 2022, thanks to u dubstte reporting that the latest HD mod works well with Wineskin on M1 Macs, I have tried installing HOTA using this method and it works great. Hello all, since I recently switched from Windows PC to a Mac, I wanted to make this post to help those who may be in a similar situation and still want to play their favourite game I tried two ways of installing Heroes 3 Complete HOTA on my M1 MacBook Air 8 GB RAM.
To start the trick, simply raise the stick slightly by applying pressure with your fingers. As you do this, make sure to keep the pom pom hidden from the audience's view. This slight movement will cause the pom pom to slide down the stick and into your hand, which is positioned underneath.
Heroes Might and Magic 3 works now on M1 Apple Silicon Macs!
Great news! Thanks to the tip of a user who found this out, is that the crash in Heroes of Might and Magic 3 is caused somehow because of a page fault of the music. How and what, no idea, but when you turn off the “music” then the game won’t crash for the M1 Apple Silicon Mac!
Extra install instructions:
– When following the basic instructions below, in the end of the GOG game install, click exit.
– Then the HD patcher will install, you need to click “browse” and change the path to “C:\GOG games\HoMM3 Complete” and continue install.
– after install complete, launch the game (which execute the HD launcher) choose resolution (basics are good), click “create HD exe” and then click play.
– Note: when launching, the game window might need to be clicked on (see also video) the go full screen to play. Enjoy!
Basic Portingkit Install Instructions GOG games:
1. Always read the “notes” of the game description first for additional steps!
2. Download the Heroes of Might and Magic 3 “offline backup setup” file(s) into your (root) download folder.
3. Go to the library server tab and select the game you want to install and click “Install”
4. Portingkit will create the wrapper and locate your setup file in your download folder
5. The installation of the game will start, run through the install wizard.
6. After installation, exit the installer (don’t run launch the game).
7. Porting kit will say it has finished successfully.
8. Go to your local library tab and select the game and click “play”!
9. Enjoy the game!
