Sally Owens is a fictional character from the movie "Practical Magic." She is portrayed as a skilled and powerful witch who comes from a long line of witches. Sally's magical abilities include the ability to cast spells, brew potions, and communicate with spirits. Throughout the movie, Sally is seen using her magic for various purposes. She often uses spells and potions to help others, such as casting a love spell for her sister or concocting a potion to cure an illness. Sally is also able to communicate with the spirit world, allowing her to gain insight and guidance from departed loved ones.

She struggles with the consequences of her actions, particularly when her spells or potions have unintended side effects.

The Magic of a Small Town Christmas

This is a review for the children’s book The Magic of a Small Town Christmas which I received a copy of in exchange for this review.

I’ve always had a rule where I will not watch Christmas Shows or read books about Christmas until Thanksgiving Eve but sometimes the Lord has other plans for us. Which is what happened this week when I received information for the children’s Christmas book The Magic of a Small Town Christmas.

I had thought of putting the book aside to add to the books we read each day before Christmas but the more Charlie and I looked at the cover the more I wanted to read the book. I opened it up last night and read the flap and learned more about the Author Magen Alexander and that she is the host of a Christmas Show which the book was based on.

I knew I not only wanted to sit down and read the book but look up the show. Which I did and have Bookmarked to watch during Christmas. I did go ahead and read the book and as I was Charlie came and sat down beside me and began to read to himself.

As we finished the book Charlie let me know he wanted to share the book not only with his dad David but his Grandmother Sherry so she could purchase a copy to watch with her great grand-children. Charlie even wants to share the show with her which he thinks she will like a lot.

Once we finished reading the book I went to put it in the Christmas Tote but Charlie said not to that he wanted to put it in our Homeschool Library as there were projects in the book that he wants to do at home with me. Which I can’t wait to work on as these projects bring us closer together as a family.

From backing Cookies for any Holiday including Christmas to visiting a Tree Farm to cut down our own Christmas Tree which I’ve always wanted to do. Would you like to go with us? Once we get home we could make our own Gingerbread Villages just like they had in the Town Bakery inside the book.

In the town of Heartbeat Falls, where skies are crystal clear, the magic of Christmas is celebrated in many different ways: from picking the perfect tree to decorating it with glittering ornaments; from ice skating to eating yummy gingerbread cookies; from hanging handmade stockings to sharing a homecooked meal. Here, the residents know the beauty of a small town doesn’t come from its size, but from the love shared by its people, shining brightly in their eyes.

This serves as a reminder that magic, like any form of power, can be both a blessing and a curse. Sally's magic is also deeply rooted in her personal experiences and emotions. Her abilities are often linked to her love for her family, particularly her sister and her two daughters. Sally's magic is a reflection of her deep connection to nature and her desire to protect and nurture those she loves. Overall, Sally Owens' practice of magic in "Practical Magic" showcases the complexity and depth of the witchcraft portrayed in the movie. It highlights the power of magic to create love and healing, but also serves as a reminder of the responsibility and consequences that come with harnessing such power..
