General Fics

  • Sypnosis: Nothing worth gaining is ever gained easily, or painlessly. A throne is won through death, a war is won with destruction and sacrifice, and peace is paid for in blood. Only the ones ruthless enough to commit themselves to these principles can reign. For Ren Kouen, these principles remain unalterable law, no matter how the phantoms of the past try to make him doubt his convictions.
  • Comments: While it was quite dark, it does give a good coverage of Kouen's Hidden Depths beneath his blunt character. It also gives a view of Kouen's relationship with Hakuyuu and Hakuren.

  • Status: Complete
  • Synopsis: The apple does not fall far from the tree. Hakuei and Gyokuen.
  • Comments: Very short, but definitely worth a read. There's not very much in canon or fan works about Hakuei and Gyokuen's relationship, and it does a good job of depicting what their mother-daughter relationship could be.

  • Status: Complete
  • Synopsis: They leave in a flurry of black Rukh, and really, black is all he sees nowadays. He's not bothered by it. Not anymore. (But sometimes, just sometimes. Morgiana.)
  • Comments: It's a very well-done look into Fallen!Hakuryuu's thoughts and feelings. His imaginings of Morgiana and Gyokuen are particularly interesting.

  • Status: Complete
  • Sypnosis: "Hakuryuu? Hakuyuu you I had what happened" When Gyokuen is finally dead, and Hakuryuu has had his revenge.
  • Comments: Beatifully written, and also one of those shots that had long foreshadowed Arba's possession to Hakuei and the likeliness that Gyokuen is also possessed by Arba .

  • Synopsis: Sinbad should never, ever be left alone to his own devices. Especially not when there are impressionable children and teenagers around for him to corrupt to his degenerate, drunken ways.

Alternate Universe Fics

  • Synopsis: Alibabas life never gets easier. Even in another life. AKA, Magi canon looks like it's going to end up an incredible mess. and the bunnies decided they needed major fixit. As in, reborn in another world level of fix it.
  • Notes: Alternate link here .
  • Comments: As with all of Vathara's works this is clever and re-imagines the original media as it would actually be lived by real characters going through those lives and making those choices. Just about the only "High-School AU" I can manage because the stakes are raised rather than trivialised - the characters face death and disaster not prom. Although probably there will be a prom, and it will be awesome because Sinbad is the Principal. Prom like the Buffy movie had prom.

  • Sypnosis: When Aladdin's gang gets saved by a mysterious person, Ja'far decides to investigate on the matter. Follow the adventures of The Black Spirit, who is the new legend of Balbbad's citizens and discover this unexpected hero's past. Alternatively, an AU where Leila left the caravan after her meeting with Aladdin and became a vigilante hero to Balbadd.
  • Comments: It's still unclear if Leila did leave Sahsa and the caravan that welcomed her after the first chapter of the manga, but the author seems to have shown it that way. It was dormant for a year before the author took the time to rewrite the story for the grammar.

  • Sypnosis: "Why did I have to run into Kassim that time?" This is a story that describes what happened if Alibaba was stopped from sneaking out of the palace that fateful night.
  • Notes: Alternate link here .
  • Comments: An interesting take of Alibaba's path if he never did sneak out of the palace. There's a bit of BL involved but overall, characterization is handled superbly.

  • Sypnosis: For Want Of A Nail AU. A landslide means Alibaba has to take an alternate route to Balbadd. Just when he's figured out there's something very weird about his knife. (AU from canon - what if Alibaba missed meeting Cassim when he first hit Balbadd? Theres one other AU element, based on something we know is possible in canon; bunnies wanted to play with it. )
  • Comments: Really wonderfully written work by Vathara, who comes up with a different direction that Magi could have gone if Alibaba had had time to get his bearings and come up with a course of action before he was ruthlessly guilt-tripped into leading a band of thieves .

  • Synopsis: Alibaba lifts Cassim from the slums into the palace. Cassim drags him to the throne. (aka the AU in which Cassim robs the treasury via more white-collar methods and navigates Alibaba through the royal court.)
  • Comments: This AU is absolutely perfect, if you love Kassim and light political drama then you should definitely read this! I'm not all that eloquent so my words can't accurately describe how GREAT this fic is, but it's honestly amazing. It's excellent! And did I mention that it is TOTALLY in character? You can really tell that a lot of love was put into this work! Please stranger, IF YOU READ NOTHING ELSE THEN READ THIS!!

  • Synopsis: After a war spanning four years, the alliance formed between the Seven Seas Alliance and the Reim Empire has finally managed to bring down the Kou Empire. However, Gyokuen and Al-Thamen flee, abandoning their magi and Kou to the tender mercies of the alliance in hopes of delaying them- with strange 'gifts' in the form of chokers around every prisoner's neck. AU.
  • Comments: Well-written characterizations. The author also gives some forms of back-story for several characters such as Hakuryuu from his early days and Kouha's relationship with his mother.

  • Sypnosis: Fate wasn't meant to be changed. But a wish made by a young king sends him back in time, resulting four souls from our world to be reborn as influential players to this version of fate. Enter: The Ghost, The Warrior, The Princess, and The Liar as they play the game of politics to help the king prevent the doomed future he traveled back in time to fix. Multiple SI/OCs.
  • Comments: By far, this had been considered as one of the best stories in the Magi fandom involving an OC, or a self-insert in that matter, the characters were well characterized and balanced, the author also tried her best to make sure that all characters, including those from canon get to be able to catch up and take levels in badassery.

  • Synopsis: Modern AU. At first, Hakuryuu's not exactly sure how he'll survive with a lazy, inconsiderate roommate, but eventually he warms up to Judal until he can't imagine their apartment without him.
  • Comments: Whether you view Judal and Hakuryuu's relationship as romantic or platonic, this fic is adorable and perfectly captures their relationship. It's funny, heartfelt, and completely in-character.

  • Synopsis: For Want Of A Nail AU. Alibaba needs his people out from under Kouen's direct influence. Kyougoku needs allies away from both the Kou empire and Sindria. • Synopsis: For Want Of A Nail AU. Balbadd's freedom depended not on armies or Metal Vessels, but on trade. Rashid Saluja was not just a king, but a successful merchant in Reim. And Alibaba is his father's son. . Think of what might happen if Alibaba remembered that.

  • Synopsis: Self-Insert Fic. Well-behaved women seldom made history, as the saying went, and she was fine with that. She was entirely content with her new lot in life, even if it came with a name she stole from a girl who was never born and a face that didn't even match that name. She was happy. And then a meddlesome magi decided to throw her into a Dungeon. It was the start of a very distressing trend.

  • Sypnosis: Fae dislike nothing more than debt, especially debt to mortals. When Hakuryuu, an UnSeelie prince, awakens maimed and weakened after fleeing Sidhe, he finds himself in the care of the mortal Judal. Touched by the blind act of kindness, he feels honor-bound to repay his life-debt.
  • Pairing: Judal/Hakuryuu
  • Comments: It is a lot of better fic than what it seems. That means is not the trashy romance one could think only from the synopsis. The characters are IC, it has a very good worldbuilding (one of my favourites faes au) and the romance's timing is almost perfect. And it has a very real plot but the story is slowly showing it, so if you aren't into that please don't read.

She'd lived only for herself, but she'd fallen in love with a world she didn't belong in, one filled with wars and troubles, and she'd do anything to protect it.

Reviews for "The Science Behind April Skin Magic Snox Cushion: Why It Works"

1. Emma - 2 out of 5 stars - I was really disappointed with the April Skin Magic Snow Cushion. The coverage was very sheer and didn't do much to cover up my blemishes and redness. The finish was also very dewy, which made my oily skin look even oilier. It also settled into fine lines and emphasized my texture. Overall, I found this cushion to be underwhelming and not worth the hype.
2. Joshua - 1 out of 5 stars - I had high hopes for the April Skin Magic Snow Cushion, but it turned out to be a complete letdown. The shade range is extremely limited and none of the shades matched my skin tone. The formula also felt heavy and greasy on my skin, making it uncomfortable to wear. In addition, it oxidized throughout the day and made me look orange. I was really disappointed with this product and would not recommend it.
3. Lisa - 2 out of 5 stars - The April Skin Magic Snow Cushion did not work well for my dry skin. It clung to dry patches and made them even more noticeable. The coverage was also very light, and I had to build up multiple layers to achieve any sort of coverage. Despite its claims of being long-lasting, I found that it faded and disappeared within a few hours. The cushion also dried out quickly, even though I made sure to properly close the lid after each use. Overall, I was not impressed with this cushion and would not repurchase it.
4. Mark - 2 out of 5 stars - I found the April Skin Magic Snow Cushion to be too thick and cakey on my skin. It looked unnatural and heavy, like I was wearing a mask. It also emphasized my pores and made them look larger. The packaging was also not convenient, as the cushion would dry out quickly and become difficult to use. I was disappointed with this product and would not recommend it to others.
