Agatha Christie and the Curse of Ishtar is a novel written by Hilary Strong, which was released in September 2020. Determined to uncover the truth behind the curse, Agatha Christie delves deep into the world of archaeology and uncovers a web of secrets, betrayal, and murder. As the plot unfolds, Agatha finds herself tangled in a complex web of suspects and motives, all while navigating the intricate political landscape of Iraq during the time.
What to do … In fact, there seemed to be a lot of secret tunnels. At one point, Max and an Arab digger end up in a tunnel, the Arab identifies a relic as resembling one that had already been found and suddenly, they’re surrounded by crated, stolen antiquities and there’s Max’s employer. He’s dying, supposedly bitten by a poisonous snake. In a tunnel.
Leonard reads the inscription to Agatha and it doesn t seem to have anything to do with the plot at all, other than in the most metaphorical of senses. The British had a strong presence there, having essentially squeezed a number of disparate, smaller states into one, larger, restive country they administered.
As the plot unfolds, Agatha finds herself tangled in a complex web of suspects and motives, all while navigating the intricate political landscape of Iraq during the time. Alongside her is the charming and resourceful archaeologist, Max Mallowan, who eventually becomes her second husband in real life. Together, they must unravel the mystery of the Ishtar curse before more lives are lost.
