Certainly, it showed how prejudice and bigotry surface at any opportunity. “Nobody cares about the truth” (out of the mouths of babes) is a moot point in this series, how much does “the truth” matter to the general public?
Of course, the moral choices and sacrifices made by a whistleblower aren t quite as gripping or terrifying as you d get, for example, with a serial killer story. This October, Channel 4 and Walter Presents will be welcoming you to settle in and enjoy the intrigue offered by Witch Hunt, an award-winning corporate crime drama from Norway.
As the story unfolds, we see the devastating impact that the witch hunt has on Alice and her loved ones. The show does an excellent job of showcasing the hysteria and mass hysteria that often accompanied witch hunts. It highlights how once an accusation was made, it was difficult for the accused to fight back or prove their innocence.
