I feel like changes have been coming so much over the last few years, that you are probably not surprised if you’re reading this. If anything, you might be thinking “Really, Siri? Another change?” But this is hopefully a change that will allow me to have more space in my life and more space for all of the ways that my practice is shifting.
I started the Northern Lights Apothecary almost a year ago. I thought “fuck it, you’ve always wanted to open a shop.” So I did. I curated a really amazing collection of magical tools, books, and decks that I knew would aid the witch’s practice. I loved supporting these incredible makers. I got a taste for how much I loved this kind of work.
But things in my personal life have coalesced in such a way that the Apothecary isn’t sustainable in its current iteration. My spouse and I are planning on moving across the country next year, and it’s just too difficult to balance that move with continuing to expand an online retail shop. I’m going to keep selling the amazing things in the apothecary until they are gone, and I won’t be restocking.
What I am planning to do is launch and expand my house line of magical herbal products.
The main reason for this is simple: I love experimenting, and I love sharing those experiments.
The secondary reason for this is practical: It is near impossible to experiment with anything herbal without making a giant batch. Even making these things at the smallest level, there will always be more than I can use and more than I can give away to friends.
