The best Tim Curry songs from "The Worst Witch

By admin

The Worst Witch is a popular children's book series written by Jill Murphy. It tells the story of Mildred Hubble, a young witch who attends Miss Cackle's Academy for Witches. The series has gained immense popularity and has been adapted into various forms of media, including a TV series and stage adaptations. One of the highlights of the TV series is the theme song, which is commonly referred to as "The Worst Witch Tim Curry Song." Tim Curry, a renowned actor, and singer, lent his voice to perform the catchy and memorable theme song. The song captures the spirit of the series and the character Mildred Hubble perfectly.

I am so weird on this. For me, stories arrive in my head because the characters already exist. It’s like they’re floating around in the ether looking for a writer to tell their story. When they find me, it’s like they whisper in my ear: “Hi, I’m so and so. These are my friends and this is our tale, and you’re going to tell it.” Sometimes I have to dig for the names of supporting cast members, but most names just pop into my head with a fully-formed character attached.

Thrust into an age-old story of ice, fire, and ancient gods, Raina must abandon vengeance and aid the Witch Collector in saving the Frost King or let their empire and her sister fall into enemy hands. The follow up to the witch collector

The song captures the spirit of the series and the character Mildred Hubble perfectly. It starts with an upbeat and captivating melody that immediately grabs the listener's attention. The lyrics of the song talk about Mildred's experiences as a witch, highlighting her struggles and determination to prove herself despite being labeled the worst witch in the school.

Hi Charissa! Thanks for chatting with me today about your novel, The Witch Collector! Can you tell us a little about your publishing journey and how your book went from idea to finished novel?

Hi there! Thanks for having me 🙂 I’ve been writing forever, but haven’t pursued publishing my work until the last five years. Back in 2017, I decided to put together an anthology based around the Wheel of the Year/pagan festivals. The old ways are very interesting to me. The first anthology’s theme was vampires and was set around the Winter Solstice. That book published in December of 2018 and contained short stories, novelettes, and novellas from all genres and many talented authors. I knew that the 2019 volume would center around Mabon/Autumnal Equinox and witchcraft/witches. So the seeds for The Witch Collector were born then. Once I wrote the novella though, I could see the larger story. I published The Witch Collector in the 2019 anthology and later contracted all three novellas with City Owl Press. The plan was to expand The Witch Collector a little and keep all three novellas around 45K words each. At the time, novellas seemed like all I could manage. I was a caregiver to my father, and the time and mental energy to turn the tale into a trilogy of full-length novels didn’t exist. My father passed in 2020, and I had to postpone the novella’s release. In the months after my dad’s death, I poured myself into Raina Bloodgood’s world to help busy my mind as I coped with the loss, and before I knew it, I had a 400-page novel on my hands. Thankfully, my publisher was cool about this and now here we are.

What’s your favourite thing about writing fantasy?

I love creating worlds for readers to slip into. For myself, as a reader and writer, fantasy is an escape. When I’m writing, I get caught up in the story I’m developing. I can’t imagine not having these lush worlds to lose myself inside.

Creating worlds is honestly the best ✨😍 Do you have a favourite moment from your publishing journey so far?

There have been several. It’s tough to choose between getting my first gushy reader review and holding the hardback. I am so thankful for everything that has happened during the unexpected journey of this story.

That first moment of holding your own book 😭👌🏻 So special. How did you choose your character names? Do they ever change as you write?

I am so weird on this. For me, stories arrive in my head because the characters already exist. It’s like they’re floating around in the ether looking for a writer to tell their story. When they find me, it’s like they whisper in my ear: “Hi, I’m so and so. These are my friends and this is our tale, and you’re going to tell it.” Sometimes I have to dig for the names of supporting cast members, but most names just pop into my head with a fully-formed character attached.

That is very very helpful of your characters to do that 😂 So tell us your favourite thing about Raina Bloodgood!

I adore Raina. I suppose my favorite thing is that she is so fierce. She loves and hates with the fire of a thousand suns. She can provide warmth and light or she can burn you to ash. Literally.

It’s impossible not to adore Raina. I loved her from the first page ahhh. Now lastly! Was any chocolate harmed in the making of this novel? 😌

HAHA. Sadly, SO MUCH chocolate was sacrificed to the Writing Gods. You have no idea. But my waistline does 😉

Is it possible to write without chocolate anyway 😪👌🏻 That’s the real question. Thank you so much for the super fun interview, Charissa!! And congrats again on your beautiful novel 🤗.

I was really disappointed with "The worst witch tim currg song". The lyrics are repetitive and the tune is forgettable. It lacks the catchy and fun elements that I expect from a children's song. My kids were not engaged at all and lost interest in just a few seconds. I would not recommend this song to anyone looking for an enjoyable and memorable experience.
2. Thomas - 2 stars
I found "The worst witch tim currg song" to be quite boring and unoriginal. The melody sounds like a generic tune that has been recycled multiple times in children's music. The lyrics are also lackluster and fail to capture the whimsical and imaginative spirit of the worst witch series. Overall, it's a forgettable song that fails to make a lasting impression.
3. Emily - 2 stars
As a big fan of the worst witch series, I was excited to listen to "The worst witch tim currg song". However, I found it to be disappointing and underwhelming. The song lacks the energy and charm that is present in the books and TV adaptation. It feels like a lazy attempt to capitalize on the popularity of the franchise. I was hoping for a catchy and memorable tune, but unfortunately, this song fell short of my expectations.

"The worst witch tim currg song" is simply awful. The lyrics are poorly written and the melody is uninteresting. It feels like a rushed attempt to create a song for the worst witch series without giving much thought to the quality. As a parent, I cannot recommend this song to other parents looking for engaging and enjoyable content for their children. It's a disappointment and a waste of time.
5. Samantha - 2 stars
"The worst witch tim currg song" lacks originality and creativity. The melody is monotonous and the lyrics are uninspiring. It's a forgettable song that fails to capture the magical and whimsical essence of the worst witch series.
