I get the sense that Robert wiped a bit of the slate clean to give herself a bit more room to breathe Hercules and Meg, both of whom are connected to Hades, don t appear in the new one that I remember. The Sea Witch – Katee Robert (Spoilers)

In my desperation to reunite with him, I have nowhere to turn but the Sea Witch. Ursa is as beautiful as she is dangerous, and the one person my father warned me never to let close. But she’s all crimson lips and pretty lies, and I’m convinced despite my fear.

It’s a simple enough plan, if not for the faint of heart. An auction to sell the one thing I possess of any value—myself. The money will free Alaric and then we can finally be together.

Except nothing is simple at all.

Ursa is playing at games I can only begin to comprehend. And Alaric? The man I thought I loved might be just as much a villain as the woman I can’t help but be drawn to.

When playing in the darkest depths of love and lust, it will be everything I can do not to drown.

My Review:

Okay, so by now we know that I adore Katee Robert’s writing and books and this was another hit!

It’s not my favourite in this particular series, I really don’t know if anything can top Tink and Hook’s book but this one was still such a fun time.

Ursa, Alaric and Zuri’s dynamic was so unique in the way it came together but I loved that each of their pieces fit. It wasn’t a perfect match by any means but the way they all came to have feelings for each other Was perfect.

I think Zuri was my favourite part of the book, purely because of her character development. She goes from meek and mild, never having really had the world come at her due to her father’s protectiveness to suddenly being thrown into a world that is entirely new and a little fightening. She deals with everything so well and to see her really come into her own was a joy. That scene with her standing up to her father? I was cheering out loud, that’s how thrilled I was to read that chapter.

Ursa and Alaric was something I wasn’t expecting, I don’t know if there just wasn’t any hints prior or if I just can’t remember but I didn’t know that they were a thing but I really enjoyed seeing them together. Especially once Ursa let Alaric in and let her walls come down with him and Zuri.

My only complaint is that I wish there was more. This book takes place over a small period of time, only a few days and I wish we could’ve gotten to see them together for longer! (here’s to hoping for some shorts about them in the future)

Overall, another sexy, dark and incredible read by Katee Robert. I can’t wait to read the final book in this series!

There’s bonus content for this book as well as a lot of her other books in her newsletters so be sure to sign up to receive it!

Another huge thank you to the author for sending the arc my way!

Zuri is innocent, naïve, and has some blinders on to her reality. Alaric is the intense charmer with his own agenda holding him back. Ursa is a force, and she is not afraid to throw her power around. They all seem very stuck in their roles. I loved Ursa and Zuri together, but I found Alaric so annoying and egocentric. These three characters did not endure themselves to you instead you have to work a bit to see the good in any of them. Ursa and Alaric are sure that they love Zuri after just two days together, but they don’t truly know her. Their love for each other seems somewhat selfish and did not come off as an organic evolution.

The main characters in the book form unlikely alliances with the sea witch, seeking her guidance and assistance in their quests. However, they soon learn that making deals with her often comes at a steep price. The sea witch's complex and morally ambiguous nature keeps the readers guessing, as her actions fluctuate between acts of kindness and ruthless manipulation. As the story progresses, the sea witch's past is unveiled, shedding light on the reasons behind her enigmatic behavior. The intricate web of relationships she has forged with the human characters adds layers of complexity to the narrative, challenging their perceptions of good and evil. The Sea Witch ultimately presents readers with profound questions about the nature of power, identity, and redemption. Through the richly developed characters and evocative setting, Oatef Robert enthralls the readers and leaves them pondering the depths of the human soul. In conclusion, The Sea Witch by Oatef Robert is a captivating and thought-provoking tale that explores the mystical world beneath the waves. With its enchanting characters, gripping plot, and vivid descriptions, this book is sure to leave a lasting impression on readers of all ages..
