The Season of Monsters is the first of four new Seasons in Smite. The first Season, the Season of Monsters, will begin on January 24 and include two updates, with the first update introducing Surtr and the Year 10 Conquest map. SMITE is bear some similarities with League of Legends, but rather than champions, players pick from some of the most iconic Gods from history to use in battle. There are several different maps and game modes to choose from, such as 5v5 all-out slaying wars, to 3v3 fights to destroy the opponent's Titan. Though there is not a new game mode coming, there is a new Conquest map that is set to launch with their upcoming update titled Season of Monsters. The map will feature a jungle-like atmosphere with new enemies to battle as you make your way through the lanes. There will also be new objectives and structures for players to enjoy.

As for the crossover event, some of the most iconic Magic: The Gathering characters will be coming to SMITE in the form of skins and rewards to show off to your friends and teammates. Chandra Nalaar, Jace Beleren, Liliana Vess, Karn, and Atraxa will be available as skins for some of the "Legendary deities", and you might notice a few Planeswalkers making their way into our plane. There will be 10 total Magic: The Gathering skins available, making it the largest Crossover event to ever hit the game.

It also appears that the legendary Fire Giant jungle boss, Surtr, will be rising from the ashes once more to become the latest playable God. All of this new content is set to release on January 24, 2023.
