The Salem witch trials is a historical event that took place in colonial Massachusetts in the late 17th century. It is a dark chapter in American history, where numerous people were accused of practicing witchcraft and were subsequently imprisoned and executed. The tragic events that unfolded during this period have captured the fascination of many, leading to various depictions in popular culture. One such depiction is the Netflix series titled "Salem Witch Trials." The Netflix series on the Salem witch trials is a fictionalized account of the events that occurred during this period. It aims to bring to life the horror and hysteria that gripped the town of Salem, as well as the personal stories of those accused.
Wayne comes home to find Deputy Mike on his porch, and is quick to act like an asshole towards him, still very pissed off about the whole burial ground/living in a former crime scene thing. It’s revealed that Wayne is actually struggling through PTSD after killing a man in a war, a fact that was hinted at a couple of times earlier in he film (i.e.- the pills Wayne took before bed,) but never said outright. After Mike leaves, seemingly having enough of Wayne’s bullshit, Wayne grabs a shovel and gets right to work on digging up the graves in his yard. Inside, Carrie goes to check on Ali- but discovers a binder full of nice little drawings on her bed, instead. The pictures depict various faceless women being hung or burned at the stake. I would like to point out that while Wayne is digging up whatever’s buried on his property, it’s still light outside- but judging from Ali’s windows, it’s pitch black. Continuity!
Wayne explains that the paperwork he found in the house suggests that every sheriff who has lived in the house have died- but not in the line of duty. Cut to present-day, at least I think it s supposed to be present-day, and there s a mini-montage of clips of a vehicle heading into Salem, Massachusetts.
It aims to bring to life the horror and hysteria that gripped the town of Salem, as well as the personal stories of those accused. The series follows several characters, both real and fictional, as they navigate the tumultuous and dangerous environment of 17th-century Salem. Through its narrative, the show delves into the psychological and societal factors that contributed to the mass hysteria and wrongful persecution of innocent people.
When will Season 3 of Salem be on Netflix?
Horror TV series Salem is returning after what seems like an eternity after the second season wrapped up in June 2015. The new series, currently scheduled for its first episode to be released on WGM America on November 2nd, 2016 will just miss Halloween, but we thought we’d give horror fans an update as to when the new season will release on Netflix.
Normally when you look for a supernatural drama on Netflix you’re usually swayed towards The CW’s efforts in The Vampire Diaries, Supernatural, and The Originals but for some, they’re simply not dark enough, and that’s where we think Salem fits the gap quite nicely.
The series takes us back to the 17th century where witch hunting is rife and is partially inspired by the real events that took place in the witch trials.
For those of you who have either cut the cord or have absolutely no idea what network WGN America is on, we’ve got some details about a potential Netflix release date, so you don’t have to worry any longer.
Given WGN doesn’t have that many original shows it’s hard to take a look at the board and see when its shows usually release onto Netflix. The past two seasons have released on Netflix at different times of the year. The first season was added in October 2014 and the second season arrived in March 2016. There’s no rhythm or reason for this which makes predicting a new date hard.
The new season is likely to wrap up on WGN in January 2017 and if they stick to the new release schedule which would mean season 4 will release in November 2017, we think Netflix may get the new season as early as March 2017 with October 2017 being the latest we think it’ll get the new season.
That’s of course if another streaming provider doesn’t snap up the show before hand. We hope that gives you some insight as to when we might get season 3 of Salem on Netflix, let us know in the comments whether or not you’ll be waiting.

The driver of the car is Wayne Downs, the replacement sheriff for Salem, who is moving his family into the home after what I’m guessing was some extensive cleaning to get the smell of gasoline out of everything. He’s arrived with his alarmingly young looking wife, Carrie, his daughter Ali, and his son, Kyle. Both kids seem displeased when they get out of the car and look at the house for the first time, which is sort of baffling, because if you take away the fact that three people were literally just murdered in it- it’s a beautiful home. Ungrateful little pricks.
While the Netflix series takes creative liberties with the historical events, it attempts to stay true to the overall context and atmosphere of the Salem witch trials. It showcases the fear and paranoia that pervaded the community, as well as the mob mentality that drove people to accuse their neighbors and friends of witchcraft. The series also explores the role of power, religion, and gender dynamics in fostering an environment conducive to the trials. Through its compelling storytelling and dramatic performances, the Netflix series sheds light on the human tragedy that unfolded during the Salem witch trials. It serves as a reminder of the dangers of misinformation, prejudice, and the collective fear that can lead to horrific consequences. I was so disappointed with the Salem witch trials Netflix series. It felt like I was watching a poorly made documentary rather than a captivating historical drama. The acting was terrible and the characters were one-dimensional. The plot was also extremely slow and lacked any real depth or intrigue. Overall, I found it to be a complete waste of time and would not recommend it to anyone looking for an engaging historical drama.
