Neo pagan autumn festivals are celebrations that honor the changing season and the harvest. One of the most well-known autumn festivals in neo paganism is Samhain, which is celebrated on October 31st. Samhain marks the end of the harvest season and the beginning of the dark half of the year. It is believed that during Samhain, the veil between the spirit world and the physical world is at its thinnest, allowing for communication with ancestors and spirits. Many neo pagans hold rituals or ceremonies to honor and remember their loved ones who have passed away.

It’s almost Halloween in Delaware and we love this holiday! Halloween is all about candy, which how can’t you love, little ones (and big) dressing up, having fun, and celebrating the fall season. Here are some great Halloween events happening in Delaware this coming week.
- Trick or Treat at UFO! That’s right, we are getting in the action at UFO New Castle and will be hosting our own trick or treat event, Saturday, October 28th from 10am-12pm. We’ll have fun photo opportunities, karaoke, candy, and a raffle giveaway. RSVP to attend and be entered in our raffle. Costumes are welcome! Location: New Castle Store.
- Sea Witch Festival 2023 The Sea Witch Festival is an annual Halloween celebration in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. Enjoy a Halloween Parade, games and festivities, trick or treating at local businesses, vendors, and so much more. Sea Witch festival takes place Friday, October 27 at 1pm – Sunday, October 29th at 5pm. Location: Rehoboth Avenue, Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.
- Local Haunted Houses – Check social media and local sites for local haunted houses. Curly’s Haunt in north Wilmington, Delaware is family run and proceeds go toward Breast Cancer Research. Tickets are $10 and they don’t skip on the jump factors, costumes and scares!
- Frightland – Frightland in Middletown, Delaware has been around for years and is full of scary fun and festivities. Enjoy haunted features, rides, vendors, snacks, and more! Tickets can be a little pricey but this is a full on experience that is sure to create memories for a long time.
- Trick or Treat on Main Street – Enjoy a Halloween Parade and Trick or Treat event on Main Street in Newark Delaware on Sunday, October 29th, 2023 at 3pm. Visit local businesses, and enjoy a safe daytime event where kids can dress up and enjoy themselves. One of Coastal Delaware's most beloved local traditions, this one-of-a-kind event offered plenty of fun for the whole family.
Sea Witch ® festivities also spilled into Dewey Beach, onto Coastal Highway, and through the surrounding resort areas. This year's activities included the annual costume parade for people and dogs, the Sea Witch® Hunt, indoor and outdoor artisans and vendor shows, Bubble Boo & Puppies Too!, the Tyke Bike, live bandstand entertainment, horse shows on the beach, a 5K race/walk, hayrides, a broom toss, magic shows, lantern tours, a fantasy trail, kids' games on the beach, a kids' treasure hunt, trick-or-treating, a haunted bonfire, and so much more!
As part of our company's sponsorship, members of our team were thrilled to carry the brand-new Sea Witch ® balloon during this year's costume parade! Regarding the festivities, Carrie Lingo, Associate Broker , remarked, "The Rehoboth Bea ch –Dewey Beach Chamber of Commerce, participants, vendors, and volunteers did an incredible job with the 2021 Sea Witch ® Festival! The events both Saturday and Sunday were a huge success. Our company, Jack Lingo, REALTOR ®, was proud to lead the parade, carrying the new Sea Witch ® balloon. 1. John - 1 star - I found the Neo pagan autumn festival to be a complete waste of time. It felt more like a bunch of people dressed up in ridiculous outfits than a meaningful celebration. The whole premise seemed gimmicky and shallow, lacking any depth or true spiritual significance. I would not recommend this event to anyone seeking a genuine and authentic experience.
2. Sarah - 2 stars - I attended the Neo pagan autumn festival with high hopes, but I was left disappointed. The organizers seemed more focused on the aesthetics and pagan aesthetics rather than creating a meaningful and inclusive experience for all attendees. The workshops and activities offered were underwhelming and failed to educate or inspire. Overall, I believe this festival missed the mark in providing a genuine connection to nature and spirituality.
3. Mark - 1 star - The Neo pagan autumn festival was a huge letdown for me. It seemed like a gathering of individuals more interested in dressing up and playing pretend rather than engaging in any meaningful rituals or practices. The atmosphere felt superficial and insincere, with little regard for the true essence of pagan traditions. I would not recommend wasting your time or money on this festival if you're looking for an authentic pagan experience.
