Miklo and Majic are two characters from the movie "Blood In Blood Out", also known as "Bound by Honor". The film follows the lives of three friends, Miklo, Cruz, and Paco, who grow up in East Los Angeles. Miklo, played by Damian Chapa, is a half-Mexican, half-Caucasian gang member who is ambitious and determined to make a name for himself in the world of crime. Majic, played by Jesse Borrego, is a graffiti artist and a talented musician who aspires to pursue a career in the arts. Miklo is initially involved in petty crimes and gang activities, but as the story progresses, he becomes more entangled in the violent world of drug trafficking. Despite his outward toughness, Miklo also struggles with his identity as a mixed-race individual, often feeling like an outsider in both the Mexican and Caucasian communities.
To be clear, not every Mexican American loves this movie. One friend in particular who grew up in the East Side (que onda, A.P.) took issue with the fact that we were giving roses to a movie he felt was laden with stereotypes and made a mockery of our culture. Still, it’s undeniable that “Blood In Blood Out” means so much to a lot of people.
As Aguilar points out in his story, Blood In Blood Out isn t available on any streaming service, but several uploads of the full movie exist online and they ve accrued millions of views in a short period of time I won t tell you where because I m not a snitch, but I m sure you can figure it out. Sure enough, the wonderful and definitive long read longread written by Carlos Aguilar he spoke to Hackford, writer Jimmy Santiago Baca, and the three co-stars Damian Chapa, Jesse Borrego and Benjamin Bratt was one of The Times top performing stories this week.

Blood In, Blood Out : Am I the only one who noticed this?
Now, I don't wanna anger the hard core Blood In Blood Out Miklo fans here but..is it me? or at the very end of the movie, after he's done telling the other Onda members they're going to be transferred to their home states and to "spread the Onda gospel, Billy Graham Style" when he is speaking to Magic Mike, he said something like "you will stay right here with me, you're the leg I don't have, the other half of mi corazon" and then the way Miklo and Magic looked at each other, and talked to each other. it seemed kind of gay to me. It was definitely hard-core prison bromance, but it did have a hint of gayness in it, that's what I think.
Now before any of you out there insult me, just remember that homosexuality is common in American prisons and perhaps this was the film maker's very subtle way of showing it. Also remember that Miklo is never showed having a girlfriend or even showing interest in a female throughout the film, even before he gets locked up. All he ever cares about is "fitting in with the boys".
