Step-by-Step Guide to Performing Basic Magic Tricks

By admin

Welcome to the magic tutorial for starters! In this tutorial, we will explore the basics of magic and learn some simple tricks to amaze your friends and family. First and foremost, it's important to understand that magic is all about creating an illusion. It's about making people believe that something impossible is happening right before their eyes. The key to a successful magic trick is practice and presentation. One of the easiest tricks for beginners is the classic disappearing coin trick. You will need a coin and a small piece of paper for this trick.

Peacock power: Upper Iowa supporting Saint Peter's Cinderella run in NCAA Tournament

The Upper Iowa University Peacock community is sending love to the St. Peter's University Peacocks men's basketball team as it continues a Cinderella run through the NCAA Tournament.

No. 15 seed St. Peter's shocked the world after upsetting blueblood No. 2 seed Kentucky Thursday, March 17 in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament. The Peacocks advanced to the Sweet Sixteen with a win over Murray State on Saturday and have a chance to make the Elite Eight on Friday night with a win over Purdue.

Packy Bowling works for the Upper Iowa University Alumni Office. He believes Upper Iowa and St. Peter's are the only universities in the nation that use peacock as a mascot.

"In fact, we did research, we wanted to make sure and we can't find another one," Bowling said. "We are about 99.99% certain that there are not any other peacocks."

After St. Peter's first win, he knew they had to do something to support the Peacocks.

"When they beat Kentucky, first off, i was shocked, and then I saw they were the peacocks," Bowling said. "I texted my boss 'we need to do something,' and I couldn't figure out what to do."

Bowling, the school's mascot Pete the Peacock, and the Peacock cheerleading squad created a video to show support for St. Peter's.

They posted the video to Twitter and have already received a message back from the New Jersey school.

"Nice to meet you fellow Peacocks! From all of us here at St. Peter's University, thanks Upper Iowa for the support!" they responded on Twitter.

Bowling hopes to continue a relationship with St. Peter's University in the future. They have been in contact with the athletic department and obviously have communicated over social media.

As to what the future holds, Bowling doesn't know, but Upper Iowa does hope, if they are make a deep run in the Division II tournament, St. Peter's could return the love.

The Upper Iowa men's basketball team just finished one of their best seasons ever. The Peacocks went 26-6, a program high for total wins in a season, and one a game of their own in the Division II NCAA Tournament beating Central Oklahoma 91-74.

They eventually lost in the second round to No.1 seed Augustana (South Dakota) 65-60.

Then, reveal that the coin is no longer there, leaving your audience in awe. Remember, the key is in the presentation! Another simple trick is the card prediction. You will need a deck of cards for this trick. Ask a friend to pick a card from the deck and show it to you, but don't let you see it. Shuffle the deck and then reveal the card they chose. How did you know? It's all about preparation! Before the trick, secretly place the same card at the bottom of the deck. When shuffling, place their chosen card on top, so when you reveal it, it seems like a prediction. One more trick you can try is the floating ring. For this trick, you will need a small ring and a rubber band. Pass the rubber band through the ring and hold it with your hands. With a bit of misdirection, secretly slide the ring off the rubber band. Now, it will look like the ring is floating in thin air. This trick is all about timing and practice. Remember, practice is key to mastering magic tricks. It may take some time to perfect your techniques and presentation, but with dedication and patience, you can become a great magician. Start with simple tricks and gradually move on to more complex ones as you gain confidence. Don't be afraid to experiment and add your personal touch to the tricks. The more you make them your own, the more impressive they will be. And most importantly, have fun! Magic is all about entertaining and amazing people, so enjoy the process and embrace the wonder of the art of magic..
