It seems like there’s still some confusion on how the new infusion type Occult works, and considering it’s downright busted on certain weapons I thought I’d break down its many plus sides (and the few slight drawbacks)
I’m been seeing people either straight not knowing what occult does or chalking it up to “keen but for arcane instead of dex”, which is only half true and misses half the magic. I wrote a really long comment to someone asking what occult was with a bunch of numbers and figured might as well share it
Yeah like the others said occult is an infusion that gives your weapon arcane scaling. There’s a couple things that make it broken.
For one, bleed scales off arcane, but only if a weapon has arcane scaling. So for any weapon that has an innate bleed effect, you want to give it arcane scaling if you can.
Let’s take the Nagakiba for example. Standard it has 45 bleed and scales in str and dex. This means that increasing your arcane won’t help it cause bleed, at 45 if an enemy has 200 bleed resist, it will take 5 hits to cause them to bleed. This applies to most of the infusions including standard, keen, heavy, quality, etc. Next point is damage and this is why occult is actually crazy. All those infusions, standard keen etc, do more damage than the others and scale stronger causing even more physical damage. So again on nagakiba standard does base damage of 281 with a D in str and a B in dex. Keen has less base at 242 but an A scaling so obviously with a decent dex stat you’ll end up doing more damage.
For all the non physical infusions like magic you get triple scaling but you do split damage and in case you don’t know if you do two damage types they both individually get calculated against resistance of your enemy and do a lot less damage than doing just purely one damage type.
So with all that in mind, the three infusions that give arcane scaling are poison blood and occult. Of the three, poison and blood give a D in arcane but occult gives a B (still on Nagakiba for this example).
Now at base, poison and occult get their base bleed decreased to 38 from the usually 45, while blood infusion not surprisingly boosts it to 82. However you need to remember that bleed scales with arcane and occult gets the B scaling. So I just quickly popped open my character with 60 arcane (soft cap) and a +25 nagakiba to check and poison has 52, occult has 82 and blood has the highest at 114. If you keep dumping insane into arcane occult will eventually catch blood but you’d go way beyond the scaling caps so it would be a waste of stats. But now let’s look at the base damage. Occult has 247 base and scales D in Dex and B in arcane. That’s a higher base damage than the dex build infusions (keen at 242 and quality at 225) and remember those ones have their bleed permanently capped at 45.
Poison and blood have a base of 236 and scale B in dex and D in arcane. This means they fall behind keen if you put stats into dex (keen scales A), and if you do that you lose the fat bonus bleed you get from arcane.
So basically this adds up to if you use occult, you can meet the base dex/str and dump everything into arcane. On weapons with innate bleed poison or rot arcane scaling will boost that, and you can keep up with the damage of any other single stat type damage infusion like keen or heavy.
This of course also opens up using the arcane incantations and sorceries, and the catalysts/staffs that scale with arcane. I personally use this to make a build where I get arcane up to 60(soft cap), put a couple points into the other stats to be able use various weapons and spells, then dump all the rest into vigor and endurance so my character is beefy

I was very disappointed with the Magic Mill dehydrator. Firstly, it took forever to dry anything. I left my fruits in there for hours, and they were still not fully dehydrated. The temperature control was also very unreliable, as sometimes it would go way above what I had set it to. Furthermore, the noise it made was unbearable. It was so loud that I couldn't even have a conversation in the same room. Overall, I would not recommend this dehydrator for anyone looking to dry their foods efficiently and quietly.
