tcwg is a fantasy, magic having, romance genre, manga/anime inspired, RPG-style story I made about a witch and her friends.
The protagonist is Mochi Catbelle, who recently inherited her family’s magic: the power of the cat witch. tcwg follows Mochi on her adventures throughout Midsphel; fighting bad guys, protecting her magic, doing side quests, learning to control her new powers, and trying not to die.
This story has a strong STRONG focus on cool magic things, slice-of-life, and slow-burn romance between Mochi and Lime.
(Its a very unserious story full of dumb and cute shit, and is not meant to anything serious beyond a creative outlet for me)
Rough storyline: pre-timeskip
The story begins with mochi turning 16, when she officially inherits her title of “Cat Witch,” and starts learning to control her power with the help of her familiar Pom.
Of course such a thing is hard to hide for a very long time, so very quickly her closest friends start to get wrapped up in it– starting with Lime (her childhood friend and the boy shes in love with), Oscar (limes friend from school) and Coco (mochis newly made friend also from school), and these 4 (along with Pom) create the cat witchs guild. Each of them in turn are given their own powers and abilities to protect Mochi and themselves.
During the pre-timeskip period, its mostly filled with little adventures and side quests, with the overarching plot of a complicated young man named Taffy trying to kill mochi so his curse doesn’t eat him alive. In Taffys efforts to lure out Mochi, he has numerous encounters with Coco (shes easy to kidnap), and eventually accidentally falls in love with her.
When they finally defeat Taffy, mochi is able to remove the curse that is killing him, and they discover that Taffy’s efforts have been in vain. He was having his strings pulled by Amanita Verna (mochis auntie and the true heir to the cat witch’s magic) who was using him to track down and weaken mochi. Amanita is able to defeat Mochi and her guild, and retrieve the cat witchs power back, taking Pom in the process.
A lot goes on, but eventually Mochi and her guild defeat Amanita with the help of Taffy and get the cats magic (and Pom) back. Afterwards, with some peace and quiet, Taffy joins the guild, and mochis power finally grows to its full strength.
However, it continues to grow beyond what Pom or mochis mother thought it would, and they don’t know what to do about it. Until Pom or Mochi can figure out whats wrong with her, the safest bet is to have Mochi hide out somewhere far from people and towns where she potentially wont level a city, and to that end, Mochi leaves her hometown of Wessport, as well as all her guild and friends.
Rough storyline: post-timeskip
Some years pass, and Mochis power finally stabilizes at a level unlike anything Pom has seen or heard of before. Pom thinks this may be an omen to the return of the first witch king, so she instructs Mochi to find the other 4 powerful witches (crow, snake, toad, spider) to investigate.
Mochi decides to try and put her guild back together for this adventure, and so sets off first to gather her friends. She finds Taffy and Coco in a town nearby the Capitol, where she finds Coco (who is getting her college degree), and Taffy (who is working to support them and adjusting to a normal life), both of whom are happy to join her. Oscar had just moved to the capitol and hasn’t decided quite what to do with his life yet, and so is also glad to have some excitement again.
Lime is the last one Mochi finds because she is afraid he won’t want to see her after so much time. They discover that during the time Mochi was gone, Lime was recruited by the m34th regiment, a specialized group of the capitol guard that is made entirely of individuals with high magic resistance, and whose sole purpose is establish and enforce a society where magic isn’t welcome. Despite this, he confesses he only joined them in hopes of eventually tracking Mochi down to see her again, and has no intention of betraying her for the m34th. Mochi trusts this and he re-joins her guild as well.
The rest of the post-timeskip follows Mochi and her guild on a lot more magic adventures and side quests as they track down and contact the 4 witches. (I don’t have this part solid yet, but it will be very botw-style where they find a witch and have to do a component of the main quest which will help in fighting and beating the witch king at the end)
Regardless, the story ends with the witch king defeated, the world is at peace, and Mochi and Lime finally get to be together without all the magic adventure shit going on.
