Spellcasting Wisdom: Navigating Life's Challenges with Magick

By admin

Life is a witch and then you hover. Life can often feel like a witch, casting spells and tricks upon us when we least expect it. It can be full of challenges, obstacles, and hardships that seem almost magical in their ability to hinder us. Just when we think we have everything under control, life has a way of throwing us off balance and forcing us to reassess our situation. But amidst these trials and tribulations, there is also magic to be found. Life's challenges can bring out the best in us, revealing our strengths and capabilities that we may not have known existed.

LWA captures the wonder of fiction and delivers it honestly

There is more to any holiday than just a day, and I feel like LWA encapsulates this feeling not by using Halloween as a focal point specifically, but by identifying its old and new concepts and balancing them through the show. The plot is much like Harry Potter in the sense of attending a Witch School, and the energy reminds me much of Pokemon, with the main character having a fiery spirit similar to Ash Ketchum.

Life's challenges can bring out the best in us, revealing our strengths and capabilities that we may not have known existed. They push us to become stronger and more resilient, teaching us valuable lessons along the way. However, it's important to remember that we are not passive victims in this magical game of life.

Not a huge post this week, but I wanted to just real quick mention a show that is near and dear to my heart right now. So in honour of Halloween, here’s a mini-discussion about some emotional aspects of Little Witch Academia!

I discovered Little Witch Academia during an anime club meeting during my time abroad in the UK this past year, and it was just about the most perfect situation to experience the franchise for the first time.

Though it was far from Halloween, LWA seemed like the perfect thing to watch for me at the time. Why? To be honest, it reminded me of everything I loved about franchises as a kid. It has a very healthy blend of Harry Potter world building with a dash of Barbie movie hero/villain relationships and plot progression. It may seem like a childish thing to admire about this show, but LWA is all about childlike wonder inspiring its characters.

My inner critical writer feels the need to point out LWA‘s self-reflective points like this. Even the art style is whimsical and simple, bright and powerful. It doesn’t showcase tremendous effort unless it is a pivotal action scene, but it doesn’t need to necessarily. Studio Trigger’s style is extremely fluid in this show and I just love how they animate the hair, clothing, eyes, and other aspects like fire and light in a simple yet transferable way. We don’t need all that detail in order to capture the magical world of Luna Nova Academy!

Despite the fact that LWA doesn’t rely on spectacle to present its narrative, it nevertheless holds a form of power over the viewer through the hints at deeper magic, literally rooting the lore in the very structure of Luna Nova. There is a balance of serious morals and lighthearted fun that combine to create a fiction that is refreshing and new, yet old and well-worn.

I wanted to post this for Halloween as my little contribution to the holiday, not for a specific celebration of Halloween and its festivities, but as a chance to look at all of the Halloween-themed media most of us will probably aim to invest in during the month of October. There is a familiarity that comes along with Halloween: the candy, the weather, the costumes, and the parties, -to name a few.

There is more to any holiday than just a day, and I feel like LWA encapsulates this feeling not by using Halloween as a focal point specifically, but by identifying its old and new concepts and balancing them through the show. The cycle of turning old concepts into new ones in LWA makes it fresh even if countless other narratives have used these ideas, plot points or tropes.

So let’s return to this concept of nostalgia. LWA provided a welcome dose of comfortable, safe nostalgia in the midst of one of the busiest months of the year for me. The familiar feelings of curiosity and a strong desire for the world of LWA to be real was not something new: I have felt these feelings with many franchises before it. However, encountering a narrative that allowed me to experience that once again without warning, especially while I was abroad and trying to turn my space into a home, just made it mean that much more to me.

Life is a witch and then you hover

We have the power to hover above our circumstances and take control of our own destiny. We may not have control over every situation, but we have control over how we react and adapt to them. When life throws us a curveball, we can choose to be defeated or we can choose to rise above it. We can hover above the negativity and find the silver linings in every situation. We can learn to embrace uncertainty and trust in the process, knowing that every twist and turn is leading us closer to our true purpose. Life may be a witch, but we have the power to overcome its tricks and spells. We have the power to hover above the chaos and create our own magic in this world. By embracing the challenges and finding the hidden lessons, we can transform our lives into something truly enchanting. So, the next time life throws you a curveball, remember that you have the power to hover above it. Embrace the challenges, learn from them, and create your own magic. Life is a witch, but you are the one with the power to rise above it all..

Reviews for "Embracing the Witchy Path: Discovering Your True Essence in Life"

1. John - 2/5 - I had high hopes for "Life is a witch and then you hover" after hearing so much hype about it, but I was sorely disappointed. The storyline felt confusing and disjointed, and I couldn't connect with any of the characters. The humor fell flat, and I found myself forcing a laugh at times. Overall, I didn't find it nearly as entertaining as I expected.
2. Emily - 1/5 - Oh, where do I even start with this book? "Life is a witch and then you hover" was painful to read. The writing was awkward, and the editing was clearly lacking. The characters were one-dimensional, and I couldn't find a single one to root for. The plot was convoluted and didn't make any sense. It felt like a complete waste of my time, and I would not recommend it to anyone.
3. Sarah - 2/5 - I wanted to like "Life is a witch and then you hover," but it just didn't click for me. The pacing was off, with slow parts dragging on and more exciting scenes rushed through. The dialogue felt forced and unnatural, making it difficult to stay engaged. The world-building also lacked depth, leaving me feeling disconnected from the story. I think there is potential, but it needs a lot of improvement to truly be worth reading.
