He was reportedly created after the son of the team's chief operating officer, Shawn Tilger, asked why they didn't have a participant in the NHL's 2018 mascot showdown event.

But Gritty's initial roll-out was rough.
A barrage of negative online comments from fans, including Philadelphia's own police department, mocked his unconventional appearance.

I noticed small bumps and pimples appearing on my skin after using this product for a few days. Additionally, it highlighted dry patches and made my skin look flaky. I had high hopes for this product but was extremely disappointed with the results. I would not recommend it to anyone with sensitive or acne-prone skin.
