It's was more or less what you'd expect of a shounen series and it was centred around building and fighting with mechs with a dash of magic and big monsters, all nice an simple (Its a bit annoying how the MCs body isn't consistent especially his shoulders/hips). But around ch 50 they start introducing the cliche shounen villains, that for some absurd reason they make main cast even duller and lose all sense of reason for anything other than mechs. They don't even explain why other countries can also produce almost the same mechs without the weird long ear guys.

I mean the way they say programs work and their logic was absurd yet bearable, but ever since they gave the prince an active role it all goes downhill. The main cast is turned into his personal underdogs with an unexplicable loyalty for the crown and all the girls on the good side, but Adel are completely negated and turned irrelevant. along with all the school students that were apparently reduced to the blacksmiths and a trio of young knights.

The story would've been so much better if they did exactly like the villains ,killing of the enemy king and voila keem killing kaijus and stuff . It's not as if they were doing the political plot well or or as if the MC cared to rebuild stuff after the war ,they're just dragging it out .They took 60ch to thake back a country , the bad guys obliterated most of the west in a chapter .

Novel is decent, anime was ok but the fact that this manga is 4 years old and still lagging behind the anime in plot progression despite said anime being released 3 years ago is pathetic.
