Eagle-eyed BGT fans 'work out' how young magician pulled off incredible card trick

BGT's young magician Jasper Cherry wowed fans and judges with his amazing trickery on the show on Saturday.

But some Britain's Got Talent fans think they worked out exactly how he pulled off the impossible trick, from the cards to the video footage.

Viewers suggested it was all in the choice of card judge David Walliams selected from the pack.

Others claimed the technology used was key in setting up the big twist with the backstage pass in the video on Ashley Banjo's phone.

Jasper had asked judge Ashley to wear his pass around his neck before wanting to see his phone.

He made the home screen on his own phone fade to black before making it ring Ashley's phone without even touching it.

BGT viewers think they worked out Jasper's magic trick ( Image:

Then he asked Ashley to place his phone on video mode so that he could take it, and record Ashley and his co-judges Alesha Dixon, David Walliams and Amanda Holden.

After leaving Ashley's phone with him, he moved on to a card trick where he transformed a blank box into a standard deck packaging.

He then produced a deck of cards from thin air, and asked David to pick one which he did.

Ashley and the judges were baffled by the trick ( Image:

David showed everyone his card before it went back into the deck, only for it to vanish.

It's then that the judges were left confused and in shock, as Jasper revealed where the card was.

He explained the real trick happened minutes earlier before David had even picked the card, asking Ashley to play back the video.

The video showed the card around Ashley's neck ( Image:

Ashley was nervous, but soon in shock when in the video Jasper appeared in a picture holding the same card.

Not only that, but the part of the video where Ashley waved to the camera showed him with the same card in the backstage pass wallet around his neck.

But the biggest trick of all soon followed, with Ashley unable to believe what was going on.

Britain's Got Talent viewers shared their theories on Twitter ( Image:

Jasper asked him to check the front pocket of his jacket, and the card had somehow made its way into it.

But watching at home, some fans believed they had it sussed despite it being very good.

Some suggested all of his cards were the same card, and the one in Ashley's jacket would have been placed there earlier.

As for the video, many suggested the technology would have allowed any card to be imposed onto the blacked out pass.

Jasper asked David to choose a card, and asked Ashley for his phone ( Image:

One fan said: "He never showed the cards so they were all the 5 of diamonds that’s how he did video and neck pass but i haven’t got a clue about the card in Ashley’s pocket."

Another tweeted: "The 5D was forced using a riffle force, the video was just augmented reality possible as he knew the card in advance."

A third said: "Bet this guy gets a card out of Ashley’s jacket at the end that producers planted!"

Another guessed: "Forced the 5 a diamonds on David but How did he get the card in the jacket."

Britain's Got Talent continues Saturdays at 8pm on ITV.

Reviews for "The Legacy of Jasper Chery: Keeping Magic Alive"

1. Emily - 2/5 stars - I was really disappointed with "Jasper Cherry Magic". The story was incredibly predictable and the characters were one-dimensional. I found myself not caring about what happened to any of them. The writing was also lacking, with some awkward phrasing and dialogue. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this book to anyone looking for a strong, engaging supernatural romance.
2. Jason - 1/5 stars - "Jasper Cherry Magic" was a complete waste of time. The plot was incredibly cliché and unoriginal, following the same tired tropes we've seen a hundred times before. The characters were shallow and lacked any depth or complexity. The dialogue was cringe-worthy at times, filled with cheesy and forced lines. I couldn't wait to finish this book and move on to something more enjoyable.
3. Sarah - 2/5 stars - I had high hopes for "Jasper Cherry Magic", but unfortunately, it fell short. The story felt disjointed and rushed, with a lack of proper character development. The romance between the two main characters felt forced and lacked chemistry. The magical elements were poorly explained and didn't add anything meaningful to the overall plot. I wouldn't recommend this book to anyone who wants a well-crafted and captivating supernatural romance.
4. Alex - 3/5 stars - While "Jasper Cherry Magic" had its moments, overall, I found it underwhelming. The story had potential, but it failed to fully deliver. The main character was relatable, but the love interest felt underdeveloped and lacked depth. The pacing was off, with some parts dragging on and others feeling rushed. The writing style was average, lacking any real flair or uniqueness. It's an okay read, but there are definitely better supernatural romances out there.
