The Good Witch of the South is a character from L. Frank Baum's famous book series, "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz." In the story, the Good Witch of the South is portrayed as a kind and helpful character who assists Dorothy and her friends on their journey to the Emerald City. Unlike the other witches in the series, who are often depicted as evil or conniving, the Good Witch of the South is a beacon of goodness and light. When Glinda steps in, she saves Dorothy by using the slippers to get her home. The elevator carrying her and Toto crashes into a cow, killing it. Dorothy had a concussion, temporarily amnesia, and a bump on her head that nearly knocked her out. Locals dug up and saved Dorothy by digging her up. Gregory Maguire, in his book Wicked, incorporated more of the 1939 version of Dorothy, played by Judy Garland. Wicked sheds light on the truth behind the famous “Dwarfland’s” experience in Oz by revealing that it was real, as described by Baum in his original story, and not a dream. Both novels describe Oz as a country cut off from the rest of the world in the form of a far-flung land.
Throughout the musical, there are several key scenes in which Dorothy appears, including the cornfields, where she happily skips along a road paved with yellow bricks. When the party found her hut, Singra turned Dorothy to a stone statue and sent a ransom note to Ozma, saying she would release the two girls if she was made Ruler of the Quadling Country again.

1. John - 2 stars - I was really disappointed with "Good Witch of the South". The story was confusing and lacked depth. The characters felt one-dimensional and their actions were often irrational. The pacing was slow and it felt like nothing really happened for most of the book. I struggled to connect with any of the characters or their struggles. Overall, it was a forgettable read for me.
2. Sarah - 1 star - I couldn't even finish "Good Witch of the South". The writing was poorly done, with numerous grammatical and spelling errors throughout. The plot was all over the place and it was hard to follow what was happening. The dialogue was stilted and didn't sound natural at all. I found myself cringing at the awkwardness of it all. I wouldn't recommend wasting your time on this book.
3. Emily - 2 stars - While I appreciate the effort to create a unique and imaginative world in "Good Witch of the South", it just didn't work for me. The world-building was confusing and inconsistent, making it difficult to fully immerse myself in the story.
