Could this be magic? Magic has always fascinated human beings since ancient times. From the early civilizations to modern societies, the concept of magic has been a subject of curiosity and wonder. It has permeated various aspects of human lives, from religion and folklore to entertainment and illusions. Magic, in its broadest sense, refers to the supernatural or inexplicable powers and abilities that individuals possess. It is often associated with spellcasting, divination, and conjuring. Throughout history, many cultures have believed in the existence of magical beings and practices.
4.) Running things with the precision of a clockwork or being reliably punctual is not a French forte. An attention to detail and how to make things look good is. Paris in particular knows how to stage things – whether it is a ceremony, a castle, how to cut a dress (to make its wearer look good) or to lay a table (to celebrate the food). La mise en scène is everywhere in Paris. Whatever eye for detail and beauty I have, I owe it to the City of Light.
A well cut bra, some lace, a matching set of underwear and you are guaranteed to face the day with more confidence such is the transformative power of beautiful lingerie. This is what I did here, using Starburst Sprays, Flat Fabio sprays the ones without the shimmer , embossing powders, Magical Micas and glitters and of course, the Starburst shots are my whole time favorites to create shimmery droplets.

Mail Art project with Nolwenn Petitbois
Today, I am sharing something a bit different: mail art ! This is our September project over the year long class I am in, True Free Spirit (lead by the talented Mindy Lacefield), and I really wanted to add this je ne sais quoi that Lindy Stamp Gang brings to anything it is added to.
I always work on several paintings/creations at a time because there is nothing more boring when in the Studio than waiting for paint to dry. AND, switching back and forth allows me to let my intuition rules over my head.
I love Mixed Media because it allows me to explore plenty of different supplies, and to mix and match them however I want. This is what I did here, using Starburst Sprays, Flat Fabio sprays (the ones without the shimmer), embossing powders, Magical Micas and glitters (and of course, the Starburst shots are my whole time favorites to create shimmery droplets).
Inspired by Irina’s last project, I tried her technique of applying embossing powder onto wet paint. I loved the randomness of it all, as you don’t really know where exactly the powder will stick and where it won’t.
Using the Tray Mate made my life way easier, and it’s great to use when applying glitters as well, as you’ll see in the video.
When I lifted some of the wet paint by using a rubber stamp, and then applied the Desert Moon Turquoise embossing powder all over, none went where the stamp took some paint; I then applied some magical mica (my favorite teal: Tibetan Poppy Teal) in the crisses.
I love using the Magical Micas as a kind of watercolor paint (this is how I approached it in the wheel I did on what of the cards): you can play with the opacity by adding more or less water, and more or less powder. You need very little, so your jar should last quite some time.
Droplets make my heart thing, and when they are shimmery thanks to the Color Shots, my heart flies far far away with joy. Saxifrage Olive Copper is a great example of what makes our products unique: they are two-toned !
Did you know that you could use your embossing ink with glitters ? I did not before trying for this project: I really wanted to use them with a rubber stamps and this is how trying the embossing inked popped into my mind. I first tried on a scrap piece of cardboard (the one I used to mask off when stenciling), it worked so I went for it ! This is opening so much doors in my newly found love for glitters. Our glitters are really fine, which makes them quite versatile.
I love that the three of my mail art are so so different from each other. I will probably gesso the back and write my personal message there 🙂
What you don’t see is that I applied varnished, to protect it from bleeding and moving around (especially the glitters).

From stories of telekinesis, levitation, and mind reading to encounters with mythical creatures and otherworldly beings, there have been countless accounts of mysterious occurrences throughout history. While skepticism is the prevailing attitude in the scientific world, there are still those who are open to the possibility of magic. The question of whether magic truly exists remains unanswered. It is a matter of personal belief and interpretation. For some, magic is merely an interpretation of unknown scientific phenomena, while for others, it represents a deeper understanding of the universe and its hidden mysteries. In conclusion, the concept of magic has captivated human imagination for centuries. Whether it exists as a supernatural force or is merely an illusion created by human ingenuity, magic continues to intrigue and inspire. The fascination with magic is a testament to the human desire to explore and comprehend the world beyond what is visible and known..

I was really disappointed with "Could This Be Magic". The plot was incredibly predictable and cliché. It felt like I was watching a rehashed version of every other romantic comedy out there. The characters were also one-dimensional and lacked depth. I couldn't connect with any of them, which made it difficult to care about what happened to them. Overall, I found the film to be a waste of time and would not recommend it to others.

I had high hopes for "Could This Be Magic", but unfortunately, it fell flat for me. The pacing of the movie was off, with some scenes dragging on unnecessarily while others were rushed. The dialogue also felt forced and cheesy, making it difficult to take the film seriously.
