At night before bed, without using a comb or brush, part your hair into small sections and tie with a hair band in order to create mini afro puffs. Again, sleep with your satin bonnet. When you get yourself ready the next day, undo the hair bands and use your hands to set your afro. Apply a moisturiser if needed. Finger coils

This age-old African tradition is another good way to get defined curls on 4c hair. Part your hair into small sections or larger sections If your hair is a bit longer. Proceed to braid your hair and twist your hair around itself in order to achieve the ‘knots’. This in itself is a cool style to rock for the day, but once you are ready to have your curls, simply undo the knots and allow your coils to thrive.
