An animated adventure film. It is about a hedgehog and a squirrel who are going to search the mountains for a magic stone of water because their village is drying up, in the way of various obstacles to reach it. Predictable like all of its kind. The start is slow but suddenly takes off. Based on a children's story. Entertaining Quality. The colors are spectacular. The animation is spectacular. Talk about the importance of water and its care, as well as the value of friendship. A movie to watch with the whole family.

The characters were all very well defined. It's really great to see a female lead who is plucky and brave and drives the action! I think adults will enjoy this as much as the kids do.

Surprisingly good watch, could watch again, and can recommend.

The beginning is a little rough as they're establishing the world and lore of "The Magic Waterstone", and they come REALLY close to an underlying racism metaphor a couple of times, but having watched the entire movie, it doesn't seem like it panned out.

The characters are just grumpy and likeable enough that each sort of has its own charm. I would have appreciated more finely tuned characters, but the cg aesthetic does seem to make up for it.

It's not a great movie by far, but I think it is good enough that younger audiences will like it and it is well enough composed that adults would be able to watch it with their kids without being too bored.

Of course animals in most movies are depicted "human like" and this is no different. It is not just the fact that they talk, but how they behave and all that. Now let's be clear, this is not Pixar. Not even close and I'm not even talking about the animation style (don't forget this does not even have close to the same budget Pixar movies would have), but also story wise.

But it can still be fun, especially for the little ones. And while you watch it with them, you can have fun with them. Nice social message overall and fine or decent movie in my opinion

. And at just the right time! The storyline is meaningful and apropos to the solutions to our current human conditions, the characters are robust and believable characters, the animation is superb, and the voiceover is superb! All of the actors did a wonderful job! I don't want to spoil it by telling you my favorites, check it out for yourself!

This is a mean and nasty film, the way the adult characters speak to the child characters makes you understand why the child characters are all bullies! The creatures all have a really mean spirited and negative attitude and at one point they make fun of another's accent! After that I turned it off, there was no message to be gained from this film let alone family-fun entertainment.

Watched the Movie twice and with family. Wonderful movie filled with emotion and fear. An Amazing Hedgehog and all the other animals were so good. The sceens flowed properly and it had a great balance of normal and then excitment. Love the plot and the journey they were on to capture something that could save them all. Oh and also liked the bears and their humor.

I love the hedgehog's name - Latte - sooo cute. Tjum is a unique name that fits with a squirrel. Latte + Tjum.

I've seen the rough short of these two characters - Latte and Tjum. It was a rough film of Latte not fitting in and Tjum is kind to Latte.

I love the squirrel's little fluffy tail he brings to the front to hug when he is nervous.

The toad gives the two adventurers water berries in a little crossbody basket. It is given wisely to Tjum who wears it as a crossbody.

I love the scene where they sit together to share a water berry while they gaze at the night sky.

Latte is upset he has no family. Not one person to look to. Tjum has a mother, father, sister. Why doesn't she have anyone?

The two reach the bear's castle. The young bear prince is smart and kind. He offers to hide the squirrel and helps the two escape.

They manage to take the waterstone and the bear king, wolves, and the lynx surround them for it.

As Tjum distracts the angry group Latte sets the stone so it flows freely for all animals.

The bear king tells the prince he would make a wiser king than him as the prince splashes in the water.

Latte and the Magic Waterstone was honestly kinda boring.

It had a plot that could've worked out, if it wasn't for the numerous gaps in its logic and explanation that personally ruined the movie. I think the uninspired, boring story writing was probably the worst aspect of the movie overall. The characters did their job, but they weren't really memorable or stuck to you well.

The only thing that the movie was able to knock out of the park, however, was definitely the graphics. Each scene was definitely fresh and vivid with colour, and the textures of the things in the world were really high quality. However, the animation part of the graphics weren't great and I definitely saw better, especially when it came to lip-syncing.

Overall, an honest middle-of-the-road movie experience. It's a great movie for kids, and has a few nice values and meanings, but for older kids and adults, the movie certainly felt unfinished and rushed to some extent.

We didn't make it 8 minutes into the movie before we saw/heard name calling, scaring others to be mean, dishonesty, theft, teasing, the list goes on. There was also bullying of another character because he didn't know who his father was.

The dialog within this movie is such that it actually teaches bad behavior and bullying. I am surprised that during this time of 'All Are Equal and Deserve To Be Treated Fairly', that anyone would broadcast such a film.

It is disgusting that it should be under a G rating and posted on children's lists on Netflix.

Classic quest narrative where Latte and her squirrel friend are on a journey, facing challenges along the way. Latte, voiced by Ashley Bornancin, was ADORABLE! Her spunky voice and little walk was so cute hah I also loved the scene where the bears started synchronized swimming, that was funny.

This is the MLP FiM episode The Crystal Empire meeting Brother Bear and Sonic. You can see how far Danish animation had come since Blockbusters like Jungledyret in the early 1990s. No Onward success of course, but at least this made it to the cinema under the COVID19 in the summer. Some can be let down by the name calling and bullying.

A very cool and at the same time informative fairy tale for the youngest and not only about climate changes on our Earth. Water shortage, droughts all over the world are an ongoing problem. It depends on us how we continue to shape our planet. From the technical side, a very nice animation, detailed fur details. I RECOMMEND this ani animation movie.

This is such a heartwarming and fun adventure story. The characters were lovable and relatable. The animation is beautiful, and it's a great movie for kids.

I also absolutely loved the synchronized swimming bears! The whole film brought me so much joy.

You'll notice the reviews here rating this above 6 have the same weird broken English as the movie does at times. I don't know if this has something to do with the movie apparently being originally a German release. There are some bizarre and probably inappropriate phrases for kids. Wasn't particularly fond of the line, "sometimes a lie just feels right." I wondered if it was maybe an issue with a phrase that couldn't be directly translated, but I speak some German and I'm not familiar with any phrase or saying that would have to be translated this way.

There are just a lot of really weird and illogical phrases and conversations. Absolutely nonsensical at times. Weak, almost non-existent storyline. My four year old didn't like it, but forced us to watch it through to the end. If you read reviews before watching movies- avoid this movie. There are literally hundreds of better movies on all platforms.

I made an account just to write this review.

Boyfriend and I have been on a kick of watching feel-good cartoon movies lately. This happened to be the next on our list. Out of all the movies we've watched recently, we agreed that this was by far the worst.

Every single character in this is rude to one another and there is no real addressing of this other than "I'm sorry I was a jerk" - "I'm sorry you were jerk too! Haha!" or asking to play with Latte after she returns home from bringing the water back, when really there should be an apology for making fun of the fact that she's an orphan and outcasting her for her entire life. We, as grown adults, found ourself scoffing at the writing of the movie as it's just straight-up rude and not in a lesson-to-be-learned type of way. Just in a rude-with-no-direct-apology way.

The resolution to the movie also makes no sense and wraps up in about 5 minutes of the film. In short, she's supposed to go retrieve the water stone from the bear king. While the bear king is doing a synchronized swimming routine in his pool, Latte and the squirrel dislodge the stone from the rock and end up making it to the wolf mountain where the bear king catches up to them. There, the bear king, the wolves, and the lynx all fight over the possession of the stone. Then, Latte just. lodges the stone into the mountain and water is restored? Why were the wolves fighting if she was going to put it in their mountain anyway? How did the bears get water along with everyone else, but everyone else didn't have it before when the bears did? Nothing in the topography changed, so the river route doesn't make any sense. Why couldn't the bear just dislodge the stone after Latte left and take it back to his cave? What happened to Latte's Dad? What was the purpose of the landslide? Just made no sense and was a messy ending.

Definitely not a feel-good. Aside from the ending that had no logic, I wouldn't even show this to kids, unless you want to teach them that rude behavior doesn't require genuine apologies or that it's okay to be mean to others. Watch something else, there are way better movies on Netflix.

REVIEW: ‘Latte and the Magic Waterstone’

Latte and the Magic Waterstone is an animated family adventure film on Netflix. Latte is a hedgehog without a family. Her dad left her when she was young and she’s always been an outsider among the animals of the clearing. Recently, the river that flows near the clearing has dried up, and all the animals are struggling to find water. When the animals of the clearing call a counsel, an old raven tells them they must retrieve the waterstone if they are to save the forest. While most of the animals laugh at this, Latte decides she will retrieve the stone and restore the forest. Accompanied by the young squirrel Tjum, they set off to save the forest. But it’s a bigger task than they can imagine.

Like so many family-oriented adventure movies, Latte and the Magic Waterstone is less about the adventure, and more about the lessons learned along the way. For Latte, the outcast hedgehog, the journey is as much to prove to herself that there isn’t anything wrong with her as it is saving the forest. In contrast, Tjum travels with Latte for much of the movie simply because he is worried about her. He doesn’t believe in the waterstone, and wants nothing more than to go home. But cannot bring himself to abandon Latte.

While the bulk of Latte and the Magic Waterstone’s story revolves around this duo there are a number of supporting characters who come and go throughout it’s tale, keeping the feeling of the story fresh and interesting. Among the plethora of characters, some of the highlights include a wise frog that aids the duo on their journey, a cunning wolf, and a bear king with a fixation for ballet. These characters all have a fun impact on the story, while never overstaying their welcome. They show up, impart upon the story what they need to, and then fade into the background. And while none of these characters were particularly memorable, they were enjoyable enough for the brief time spent with them.

Just as Latte and the Magic Waterstone‘s cast falls shy of memorable, so too does the animation. Nothing about the visuals are bad here, they just all feel fairly basic. All the various woodland creatures are easily identifiable as what they are, and a few even have a little bit of creativity given to them. Overall, however, the visuals for this tale fall soundly into the category of fine.

When all is said and done Latte and the Magic Waterstone provides an enjoyable tale that kids should be able to find a bit of entertainment out of. And while it doesn’t have that second layer many family films do for the adults, it doesn’t sport any of the overly obnoxious characters some kids movie posses. If you are scrounging for something new for a family movie night you could do a lot worse than Latte and the Magic Waterstone. Though, you could do a lot better to.

Latte and the Magic Waterstone is streaming now on Netflix.

When I was growing up, in terms of animated films, there was Disney and then there was everything else—and the gap between the two was a big one. While the House of Mouse and Pixar still hold the number-one spot, there are a number of good animation studios around now, and a lot choose from when picking a feature for the kids. But when I’m reviewing an animated film, one factor I take into consideration is the question, “Would I have enjoyed this when I was little?”

Latte and the Magic Waterstone (or Latte Igel und der magische Wasserstein) is a German import that has been dubbed and lightly tweaked for American audiences and released under the Netflix banner. It follows the journey of a young hedgehog named Latte (voiced by Ashley Borenstein), a spunky and spikey little misfit who lives among the other animals in the forest, but is never accepted as one of them. She claims to be a Princess, and insists that one day her father, the King of the Hedgehogs, will return. But no one believes her, least of all the young squirrel Tyum (Cameron Hastings), whom she is always antagonizing.

The forest these critters inhabit is facing a drought, and when Latte’s antics cause the small water supply to be emptied, a panic ensues. When a bird tells the other animals the tale of a magic waterstone that was once the source of all water in the forest, only to be stolen by the Bear King, Latte decides to bring back the stone, and Tyum is assigned to join her on this quest. The bickering duo must learn to work together as these unlikely heroes find themselves on the most challenging adventure of their young lives.

The animation here varies a bit in quality, and some characters almost appear as if they haven’t been fully rendered. While the overall quality is only slightly above the level of a morning show on Disney Jr., the characters are cute and kids won’t mind. The larger problem lies in the surprising lack of humor, which I attribute in large part to the fact that this was made as a German-language movie and the English dialogue has been designed with the top priority of syncing up with the original mouth movements. By the final third, we start to spot signs of attempts to be amusing, but any jokes are on the same level of sophistication as the ones my four-year-old nephew writes, and without his impeccable sense of comic timing.

It was somewhere in this final third, which thankfully picks up the pace on the action, that I really asked myself the above question “would I have enjoyed this when I was little?” The answer that I came back with was that, as a child, I enjoyed some animated movies that were not nearly as good as this one. But back then, in the days of hand-drawn animation, our choices were a lot more limited. In the CGI age, it’s not at all difficult to find something your little ones haven’t seen. You can certainly do worse than Latte and the Magic Waterstone, but you can also do a lot better. The film is pleasant, cute and innocuous enough, but it’s less a question of whether it will make for good repeat viewing than whether you and your kids will stick with it all the way to the end the first time around or simply go back to rewatch a classic on Disney+. –Patrick Gibbs

Reviews for "The Power of Black Magic: How Hublot's Aerofusion Watch Became an Icon"

1. John - 2/5 - I was really disappointed with the Aerofusion black magic watch. The design looked great in the pictures, but in person, it felt and looked cheap. The materials used felt flimsy, and it didn't have the weight and solidity I would expect from a luxury watch. The black color was also not as deep and rich as I had hoped. Overall, it just didn't live up to my expectations and I wouldn't recommend it.
2. Emily - 1/5 - This watch was a complete letdown. The black magic label made it sound so cool and mysterious, but the reality was far from it. The watch felt like a toy and didn't have any presence on my wrist. The black color also started to fade after only a few weeks of light use, which was extremely disappointing. I would advise against wasting your money on this watch and instead invest in a better quality timepiece.
3. Michael - 2/5 - I bought the Aerofusion black magic watch because I was drawn to its unique design. However, after wearing it for a short time, I began to notice that the straps were uncomfortable and left marks on my wrist. The watch was also quite difficult to set, and the hands seemed to get stuck frequently. The overall quality of the watch just didn't meet my expectations, and I regret purchasing it. I would advise potential buyers to look for a more reliable and comfortable watch option.
