But season five was the worst season second only to season six. I mean those two seasons really destroyed Phoebe's character for me and she used to be my favorite character on the show. The first two seasons really were more about the sisters bond and their duties as the charmed ones while the later seasons it became more about their love lives than it was about their sisterhood. Some of you may disagree with me but in my opinion I think that the first two seasons were the best because to me it felt more like Buffy. By that I mean that while Buffy had relationships throughout the series that show was more focused on her friends and her duties as the slayer. The relationship drama took a back seat to the main plot of the show. Whereas with Charmed in its later seasons it became more of a CW show and that's not a compliment at all.

I think that the quality of the show in its storytelling and characters overall was way better in the first two seasons. In fact I'd go so far as to say that the first two seasons of the show were the best seasons of the show in general. Those two seasons focused more on the sisters bond and their actually leaning to be witches. It really was about the charmed ones as sisters first and then witches second and then relationship drama third. Season three did focus more on the relationship drama but it wasn't as much as the latet seasons. In fact you can see a clear distinction in tone and overall theme of the show after season five. In the second half of season four is when started its slow decline for me.
