Witch Dungeon Museum

The 1692 Salem Witch Trails are one of the most iconic historic events in the entire country, so if you're going to learn about them, why not REALLY experience them!

Don't worry, you won't really go on trial! The Witch Dungeon Museum is one of the most exciting experiences in Salem, and let's you travel back to 1692 as you listen to live re-enactments of the trials - with costumed actors actually reading the words from the historical transcripts!

How amazing is that - it might feel like you ARE actually there! You will hear all about the names and people who really were affected by the trails - from the Reverend Parris' daughter Better, to Abigail his niece.

What do you think it took to have that sort of trial and punishment? Some children barked like dogs. others would have fits on the floor. There were some strange goings on in the village!

The trails have gone down in infamy, however they actually only lasted 13 months in total. 156 people were accused, and 19 were actually hung. just to name a the nicest form of punishment!

They have continuous shows all day!

After you have seen the re-enactments, the Witch Dungeon Museum gives you the chance to actually tour the dungeon yourself! The museum lets you explore a recreated village and Gallows Hill. If you're in the area around Halloween, you might find some extra haunted happenings occurring!

An amazing way for kids to learn about the history of Salem and the witch trials. It might not be suitable for super young kids, but other kids will love the fact it's all based on a true story!

Reviews for "Witch Trials Revisited: Discover Salem's Dungeon Museum"

1. John - 1 star
I was extremely disappointed with the Witch Dungeon Museum combo tickets. The museum was small and poorly maintained, with outdated displays and minimal information about the history of witches. The tour guide was unenthusiastic and rushed through the exhibits, making it difficult to fully grasp the significance of the events. The dungeon portion of the tour was even worse, with cramped and dimly lit rooms that felt more like a cheap haunted house attraction than an educational experience. Overall, I found the whole experience to be a waste of time and money.
2. Sarah - 2 stars
I bought the Witch Dungeon Museum combo tickets thinking it would be a fascinating insight into the Salem witch trials, but I was sorely disappointed. The museum itself was lackluster, with poorly organized exhibits and a lack of coherent storytelling. The information provided was basic and didn't delve into the complexities of the trials. The dungeon part of the tour was not much better, with cheesy reenactments that felt more like a tourist trap than anything else. I left feeling underwhelmed and wishing I had spent my money on a different attraction in Salem.
3. David - 2 stars
I was excited to visit the Witch Dungeon Museum with the combo tickets, but it turned out to be a letdown. The museum was small and cramped, with limited artifacts and displays that didn't offer much insight into the history of witches. The guided tour felt rushed, and the tour guide's explanations were lackluster and lacked depth. The dungeon portion of the tour was overly dramatic and felt more like a cheap theatrical performance than an informative experience. Overall, I expected more from this attraction and would recommend exploring other options in Salem instead.
