Destiny 2: The Witch Queen review
The Witch Queen fundamentally changes a lot of Destiny 2. There’s weapon crafting, a new area to explore, a new raid coming, tons of weapons to grind for, and plenty of sandbox changes that shake everything up. But the writing isn’t on par with some previous expansions.

Destiny 2: The Witch Queen is the newest expansion of Bungie’s 5-year-old title, which has increased in popularity and scope since its introduction. But The Witch Queen doesn’t do much for me in regards to its writing quality. While it’s certainly better than Shadowkeep or Beyond Light, I didn’t find the story or dialogue compelling, especially given how much build-up we’ve had up to this point. And if you’re coming in for the first time, I don’t think Destiny 2 is any friendlier than it’s been previously — a huge complaint many, myself included, have levied against the game.

Moreover, the witch queen's powers require a constant source of energy. This energy can be drawn from various sources, such as the natural world or from other living beings. For every spell she casts, there must be a balance. The witch queen learns early on that she cannot take without giving in return. She must be mindful of the equilibrium in the magical realm, and ensure that her use of power does not upset the delicate balance. She pays the cost of maintaining this equilibrium through her diligence and understanding of the interplay between the physical and magical worlds. Yet, the true price of the witch queen's power lies in the burden she carries. By wielding such immense power, she becomes a target for those who seek to control or destroy her. Her abilities make her a threat to those who fear her potential, and thus, she becomes entangled in battles and conflicts that seek to harness or eliminate her powers. The witch queen must constantly protect herself and those she cares for from threats and manipulation. In essence, the witch queen's powers come at a great cost - physically, emotionally, and mentally. However, despite the sacrifices she must make, she continues to wield her magic and embrace her role as a powerful mystical force. The witch queen represents the eternal struggle between power and sacrifice and teaches us that sometimes, the price we pay for our abilities is what defines our journey..

I found "What does the witch queen cost" to be incredibly disappointing. The plot was muddled and confusing, making it hard to follow what was happening. The characters were one-dimensional and lacked depth, making it hard for me to care about their fates. The pacing was also off, with certain scenes dragging on for far too long while others felt rushed. Overall, I couldn't connect with the story and found myself bored rather than engaged.

I regret picking up "What does the witch queen cost." The writing style was choppy and disjointed, hindering my ability to immerse myself in the story. The dialogue was clunky and unrealistic, making it hard to believe in the characters and their motivations. I was extremely disappointed by the novel and would not recommend it to anyone seeking a well-crafted fantasy tale.
