Running on a Spiritual Path: Unearthing the Power of Voodoo in New York City

By admin

Voodoo running from my magic is a concept that reflects the idea of voodoo beliefs and practices being threatened or challenged by other forms of magic or supernatural powers. Voodoo, also known as Vodou or Vodun, is a practiced religion that originates from West Africa and has spread to the Caribbean and parts of the Americas. Voodoo is characterized by its emphasis on connecting with spirits and divine forces through ritualistic practices, including spellcasting, divination, and healing. It has a complex system of deities or spirits known as Loa, who are believed to possess individuals during ceremonies known as rituals. These rituals often involve music, dance, and offerings to the spirits. However, the idea of voodoo running from other forms of magic suggests that there is a perceived threat or competition from different magical practices.

Little Witch Academia Andalites - Akko and Diana

By BSonirachi,
posted a year ago Digital Artist

I have never read any of the Animorphs books growing, but I do remember seeing the covers as a kid and being fascinated by the TF sequences on the covers (even if there are memes about them these days). The books even feature an alien species known as Andalites which are like alien deer centaurs with bladed tails and even technology, though I will admit the fanart I've seen of the species does them much better justice than the official illustrations.

Originally the idea behind these drawings was that I wanted to doodle Akko and Diana from Little Witch Academia as alien species from an assortment of works about a year ago, but never got further than turning them into Andalites, due to having other commitments and the interest petering out. More recently this year, I thought of Constanze being one, and then had the idea of turning the rest of Akko's friends into them to see how I'd design them as Andalites while also looking up information about their biologies, and I will admit doing these have been fun to do.

So these are the first two, with Akko quite surprised over her change. I did consider having a little less hair for Akko on the right of her forehead, though decided against that.

Little Witch Academia, Vol. 2

Akko can't seem to pass her transformation magic test, which means she can't participate in the joint-dinner banquet with the prestigious students from Appleton. Having lost confidence, Akko has her eyes set to the northernmost part of campus for the Polaris Spring, which is said to grant witches tremendous power.

However, the idea of voodoo running from other forms of magic suggests that there is a perceived threat or competition from different magical practices. This could be due to various factors, such as colonial influences, the spread of Christianity, or the rise of other magical traditions. Historically, voodoo has faced persecution and marginalization due to the negative portrayal and misunderstanding of its practices.

Another great addition to the story. I did notice one inconsistency with the art as well as some of the storylines being mentioned only briefly from the TV show and replaced by a new one. So I would say that you would have to watch the Netflix show to get the full story. I enjoyed reading stories I knew as well as new side stories. I must have missed it on the show but not all of them are Japanese. Amanda is American, Jasminka is Russian, and Constanze is German (that last one I figured out though). It would be nice to have side stories and all the episodes in the manga but it could be boring to read the same things so I understand why things were cut out.

More of a 3.5 star rating;
I really like that with this volume, we got to see more of the other Luna Nova students. As well as, seeing Akko interacting with other characters and learning/struggling to learn more magic.

Wenn es irgendwann weitergeht, will ich mehr AndrewxAkko. Ich finde die süß zusammen! Es muss nicht unbedingt romantisch, sein, aber einfach mehr Andrew! xD

As with the first volume, this one balances adaptation of anime stories with some original content. Unfortunately, about half of this thing is borrowed from the anime, including the "debt to the dragon" and the "lusting for Andrew's dick" plots. Curiously, one of the original stories actually focuses on Andrew and the other boys at his school, showing no Luna Nova students except for a young Diana in a flashback, expanding LWA's "slice-of-life" elements to cut a sliver from outside the main setting and cast.

Aside from that, the main thing about this volume can be said of its predecessor: the artwork breathes life into the characters and the world without merely retreading the content of the anime, without looking like it's been half-assed to help make more money for TRIGGER, whatever. There's "soul" here.

A big standout is the pair of pages on 166 and 167, basically a huge "spot the difference" game, reusing the art from 166 with slight alterations on 167, for humorous effect. I think the Aqua/Aria manga does something similar with some frequency. Pretty neat way to play with the manga medium, in a manner certainly far more "artistic" than how the anime often made use of limited animation for gags.

Vodoo running from ny magic

This has resulted in a decline in the number of practitioners and a loss of knowledge and traditions. Additionally, the increasing globalization and homogenization of culture have led to the erosion of voodoo practices, as they become overshadowed by more popular or mainstream magical beliefs. Furthermore, the concept of voodoo running from other magic could also be interpreted as a reflection of the power dynamics within the magical community. Different magical traditions often have their own systems of beliefs, practices, and codes of conduct. They may compete for followers or recognition, leading to the marginalization or stigmatization of certain practices. However, it is important to note that voodoo, like other forms of magic, is a deeply personal and individual practice. It is not inherently weaker or inferior to other magical traditions. The idea of voodoo running from other magic reflects societal biases and power dynamics rather than any inherent weakness or deficiency in the voodoo tradition itself. In conclusion, the concept of voodoo running from my magic highlights the challenges and threats faced by voodoo as a magical tradition. It speaks to historical persecution, cultural assimilation, and the power dynamics within the magical community. However, it is essential to recognize that voodoo, like any other magic, is a valid and powerful practice deserving of respect and understanding..

Reviews for "The Enigmatic World of Voodoo Running: Uncovering New York's Hidden Pathways"

1. Sarah - 2/5 stars - I found "Voodoo running from NY Magic" to be quite disappointing. The plot lacked depth and seemed to jump from one random event to another without any clear direction. The characters were underdeveloped, making it difficult for me to connect or care about their fates. Additionally, the writing style was choppy and filled with grammatical errors, which further detracted from my reading experience. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this book to anyone looking for a well-crafted and engaging story.
2. John - 1/5 stars - "Voodoo running from NY Magic" was a complete waste of my time and money. From the very beginning, it was evident that the author had no idea how to build suspense or create compelling characters. The dialogue felt forced and unnatural, making it impossible for me to get invested in the story. Furthermore, the repetitive use of clichés and tired tropes made the book feel unoriginal and uninspired. I had high hopes for this novel, but unfortunately, it fell far short of my expectations.
3. Emily - 3/5 stars - While "Voodoo running from NY Magic" had some interesting concepts and moments, I ultimately found it to be a letdown. The pacing was inconsistent, with certain scenes dragging on for too long while others were rushed through without proper development. The world-building was shallow, leaving me with more questions than answers, and the ending felt abrupt and unsatisfying. Despite these flaws, I appreciated the author's attempts to create a unique urban fantasy setting, but I wish they had executed it with more finesse.
