Having a good time in Plimmiri, Rhodes

As many of you might have noticed, me and my boyfriend were spending some chilled and sporty days in Rhodes.

When i was younger my parents were taking me on holiday to greece, but as a child all that’s interesting is the beach for creating some sandcastles and the sea for swimming. So i got really excited going back to Greece after all these years seeing something new, because i’ve never been to Rhodes before.

The resort

We were staying at the Tui Magic Life Hotel in Plimmiri, at the southern point of the island. We had some really chilled hours, were also renting a car for going to Lindos and enjoying the sportprogram to the fullest. I will write another blogpost about our crazy mountainbike tour and the trip to Lindos. [Update: see them here and here]

A lovely stay

Plimmiri is a very small fisher village on the southern end of Rhodes island where not so much is going on. As we only wanted to chill out this was perfect, because on the beach you will only find some hotelguests and it’s very quiet. Around Plimmiri you can find some lovely little greek villages not being used to tourism – so they’re just real greek. In the club we were having some good Mojitos, some swims in the different pools, i was trying all the different slides (well the child in me was speaking) and there was a lot of entertainment going on. If you’re there try the cone-slide, it’s amazing!

Evening entertainment

In the evening there was always some entertainment program, once we had a salsa night and the other night there was a concert of the german band Pur. They’re having this “Stars on stage” thing, where bands and singers are coming to the Tui Magic Life Clubs, giving a concert and you can get really close to the starswhich was amazing for some of the Pur fans i think. I had a short talk to the singer of the band and he told me that he’s trying to get a lot of contact to his fans and that he was swimming and enjoying some time in the sea already.

About the club

The contras of the club: Getting there from the airport takes some time (around 2h by bus). The beach is a mix between sand and small stones – so just take some proper bathing shoes with you. Because of the small stones the water is superclear and really turquise which is amazing. And Rhodes is famous for having around 300 sunny days a year, but a pity it’s also famous for its wind. We had a lot of wind on the first two days, but it got better later on which was good.

TUI Magic Life Club Plimmiri

Prachtig resort, luxe, lekker eten, etc, maar. Vanaf half juni minimaal 500 kleine kinderen op het resort ivm start Duitse schoolvakantie. Voor mensen zonder kinderen is het hier de hel op aarde. Er is een adult only restaurant binnen, maar je kunt niet buiten eten, op het strand zitten of bij het zwembad zonder huilende of krijsende kinderen. Voor ons een hele grote vergissing! Op de Tui website zie je van koppels alleen lovende kritieken, waar wij niets van begrijpen. Wij houden van kinderen, maar dit zijn echt héél veel kleine kinderen.

geweldige week gehad.. mooi weer 25 tot 28 graden.. veel gewandeld in de heuvels. auto huur in hotel aan 35 euro per dag. beter dan bus naar Rhodos. uitstap Rhodos heel goed te doen en onderweg Lindos en Kalithea bezoeken. de zeven springs of bronnen niet doen niks te zien enkel wandelen. in hotel kan men lekker eten en drank zeer goed zowel het bier als de cocktails. zeker Prasonisi bezoeken. weg door de zee naar ander eiland.. kan men doen met bus die stopt aan hotel voor maar 2.40euro p/p. 20 min rijden. zoals gewoonlijk Magic live is goed hotel met veel sport en animatie dat nu wel moest geboekt worden via QR codes maar dat was zeer eenvoudig. top week samengevat enkel het is wat afgelegen en dus een week was voor ons top. maar als het langer had geweest ook geen probleem dan hadden we de andere kant van het eiland nog bezocht. maar ja dat is dan voor de volgende keer. nog maal top vakantie

Ideale meivakantie: rustig en niet te warm. Wat een heerlijker bestemming. Voor de derde keer. Super accommodatie, prachtig groen, zeer schoon. Veel ruimte. Prachtige strandomgeving. Het personeel is top, je voelt je erg welkom. Klasse service. Eten is erg goed - en wij zijn kritisch! En veel sport (tennis, watersport etc) en activiteiten. Als je hier niet kan ontspannen en genieten, dan blijf maar thuis.

TUI Magic Life Club Plimmiri

Bij de aankomst kregen we een kamer met schimmel in de douche . minibar wordt niet dagelijks aangevuld . Personeel in restaurant en aan het zwembad is vriendelijk. Eten is gevarieerd en lekker . Ook de drankjes zijn ok

In het uiterste zuiden van Rhodos ligt dit prachtige resort. Het biedt enkele mooie verschillende zwembaden en een mooi strand met veel mogelijkheden op het gebied van watersport. Onze kinderen van 7, 9 en 11 hebben zich elke dag op en top vermaakt. 's Avonds aten ze met de andere kinderen en de begeleiding zodat wij de handen vrij hadden. Een win-win situatie. Wij hadden nooit problemen met het vinden van een ligbed. Pluspunten: hygiene, vriendelijkheid van het personeel, alles wel binnen accepabele loopafstand, (kwaliteit/ diversiteit van) eten, kamers, supermarkt, service, aanbod activiteiten. Voor ons wat negatiever: lange transfer, onduidelijkheid mbt planning kidsactiviteiten, geen creatieve activiteiten. Houdt rekening met het feit dat er minder Nederlanders zijn en meer Duitsers/Engelsen. Alcohol is ook inclusief maar geen enkel exces meegemaakt. Dit was onze eerste club vakantie; er zullen er zeker meer volgen!

Tui Magic Life op Rhodos ligt misschien dan iets afgelegen tussen de mooie heuvels van de zuidpunt van Rhodos maar ó wat is dit hotel indrukwekkend! En.. je bent in Lindos in 30 minuten (autohuur op park) Rhodos Stad en vliegveld 1.5 uur.

Als verwend jong gezin met kids van 7 en 5 hebben we iedere dag genoten van de luxe, het comfort, de faciliteiten en het hoge niveau van dit resort hotel met luxe club gevoel. We zijn de afgelopen jaren véél gewend, hebben veel dure hotels en cruiseschepen mogen bezoeken voor onze vakanties. Dit resort staat bovenaan op ons lijstje momenteel en dat terwijl wij de all-in resorts normaal liever links laten liggen.

De meeste hotels beloven gouden bergen rondom luxe, uiterlijk en comfort. Dit hotel maakt het waar. Wil je een keer gek doen met je gezin. succes gegarandeerd!
