Originally issued in the 1970s in five volumes, it encompassed a complete working system of theurgic magic and philosophy as taught within the original Aurum Solis group. This set as listed here includes Volume 1 - The Foundations Of High Magick in Hardback as issued in 2000 by Castle Books, Volume 2 - The Sword and The Serpent in Paperback as issued by Llewellyn in 1992 and Volume 3 - Mysteria Magica in Paperback as issued by Llewellyn, also in 1992. Volume One is complete and unmarked, the dust-jacket is a but scuffed and there's a 2cm closed tear down the spine. The book itself has an attractive faux leather 1/4 binding with purple boards, so I'd recommend ditching the dust-jacket -- I present it here for completion. Published in 1904, it is considered to be the foundational text of Thelema, a philosophical and religious system. The book was allegedly dictated to Crowley by an entity known as Aiwass. It emphasizes the individual's will as the ultimate guiding force and encourages the pursuit of one's true purpose in life. Lastly, "Prometheus Rising" by Robert Anton Wilson offers a unique perspective on magical philosophy. Published in 1983, it combines scientific theories with occult practices to explore the nature of consciousness and personal transformation. The book introduces the concept of reality tunnels and presents various exercises and techniques for expanding one's awareness and breaking free from limiting beliefs. These three books offer valuable insights into the study of magical philosophy. Whether one is interested in hermeticism, Thelema, or a more scientific approach, they provide a wealth of knowledge and wisdom. Through these texts, readers are encouraged to explore the depths of their own consciousness and tap into the limitless potential of the universe..

Overall, I was disappointed with this book and would not recommend it to others.
- Chris - 3/5 - While I appreciate the author's attempt to delve into the study of magical philosophy, I found "Three books on the study of magical philosophy" to be too dense and inaccessible for the average reader. It felt more like an academic textbook than a book for general readership. The author assumes a level of prior knowledge and familiarity with the subject matter, making it difficult for beginners like myself to fully grasp the concepts. I think the book could have benefited from a more approachable writing style and clearer explanations.
- Sarah - 2/5 - "Three books on the study of magical philosophy" failed to meet my expectations. The book was dry and lacked the engaging narratives and anecdotes that I enjoy in philosophical works. It felt more like a tedious textbook, filled with dense theories and concepts that were difficult to connect with or apply to real-life situations. I believe this book would only appeal to those already well-versed in magical philosophy, leaving beginners like myself feeling overwhelmed and uninterested. I would not recommend it to those looking for an accessible introduction to the subject.
