A Guide to the Chemistry Behind Magical Transformations

By admin

The handbook of magic and chemistry is a comprehensive guide that explores the fascinating intersection between the supernatural and the scientific. This unique resource delves into the world of alchemy and mysticism, bridging the gap between ancient mystical practices and modern scientific knowledge. The main idea of this handbook is to provide readers with a deeper understanding of how chemistry has influenced and shaped the perception of magic throughout history. By examining the chemical properties and reactions that occur during magical rituals, the handbook explains the underlying scientific principles behind these seemingly supernatural phenomena. Moreover, the handbook also explores the practical applications of chemistry in the field of magic, discussing the various potions, elixirs, and spells that can be created using chemical ingredients and processes. By studying the handbook, readers will gain insight into the complex relationship between magic and chemistry, and how these two disciplines can be synergistically intertwined.

Magic Academy Awilix + concept art (My take on the witch skin concept)

Hello again! Now, I'm definitely not the first to suggest a Witch concept for Awilix, but here's my take on it! This is inspired by the animation Little Witch Academia. It is rather ambitious, with many animation/effect changes. This is NOT meant to be a "magical girl" trope like Sailor Moon. Definitely went overboard on this one; beware the wall of text!

In this concept, Awilix is an apprentice witch studying at a Witch Academy. She is still learning, so she is a bit clumsy, especially when it comes to flying. However, she is very cheerful, and is determined to be the greatest witch ever.

Tier: T4

Type: Since she already has a T4, and due to large animation/effect changes I'd put this as a exclusive/limited; probably Halloween.

VGS: Original voice actress with different lines and no added voice effect would be peachy keen. Other voice options include a Japanese or Korean accent.

Model: Her face model and skin colour should stay the same as the original. Her hair is coloured reddish brown, and is let down, but keeps the two "rings".

Effects: Small glow/sparkles from the gems on her staff and wand. Light from the grimoire.

VGS References: Preferably just from Little Witch Academia and maybe Touhou. General magic references are fine, not too cheesy though.

Here's a rundown!

ANIMATIONS

  • During combat, she wields her broomstaff in one hand, and her grimoire in the other.
  • When idle/not in combat, Awilix studies her grimoire. As long as she is not in combat, she will continue to read, even while walking/running/jumping.
  • When stabbing with her broomstaff, there are small bursts of magic with every attack. When attacking with her wand, the magic travels farther to match the broomstaff's range. The basic attack animations for the wand are different, and usually include spinning it in her hand.
  • When casting Moonlight Charge, and for the duration of the Gravity Surge buff, her grimoire will float open beside her, light glowing from the pages.

ABILITIES

Suku

  • Suku is a normal sized black cat. She acts just like Chang'e's Jade Rabbit, meaning she will follow Awilix around independently.

Mount Suku

  • Instead of Suku, her staff turns into a broom and she mounts it. Suku also jumps on, riding in front of her on the handle.
  • Awilix is a tad unsteady when flying the broom, and when activating Leap, she loses control, panics , and crashes onto the targeted area.

Featherstep

Awilix flips over her target, brandishing her wand and pointing it at their head she passes over in an attempt to hex them. There is a spark of magic from her wand hitting her target as she flips.

Moonlight Charge

Suku quickly moves to the front of Awilix. Using her wand, Awilix quickly casts a growth charm on Suku, who grows to the regular panther size while charging. Reaching the end of the charge, Suku shrinks back to normal and runs back to Awilix.

Gravity Surge

  • Awilix channels her magic through her grimoire, and switches to her wand until the attack speed buff has faded. There is a magic, glowing runic circle under her for the duration.
  • In the case of a knocked up enemy, Awilix pulls them towards her with a beam of light from her wand, and there is a blast of magic from her wand when they reach her.
  • The markings on her glow slightly for the duration of the buff.

Reviews for "The Role of Chemistry in Fantasy Literature: From J.K. Rowling to C.S. Lewis"

1. Sarah - ★☆☆☆☆
I was really disappointed with "The Handbook of Magic and Chemistry." The title made it seem like it would be an interesting mix of science and magic, but it fell flat for me. The book was poorly organized and lacked depth in both subjects. The explanations of chemical reactions were shallow and didn't provide enough details for someone looking to learn about chemistry. On the magic side, the book only scratched the surface and failed to provide any real insight or practical applications. Overall, this book missed the mark and left me feeling unsatisfied.
2. James - ★★☆☆☆
As a chemistry enthusiast, I was excited to dive into "The Handbook of Magic and Chemistry," but unfortunately, it didn't live up to my expectations. The book lacked a clear focus, jumping between basic chemistry concepts and vague references to magic without any cohesive connection. The writing style was dry and didn't engage the reader, making it difficult to stay interested in the material. Additionally, the illustrations and diagrams were poorly executed and didn't effectively enhance the explanations. Overall, this book felt like a missed opportunity to explore the fascinating intersection of chemistry and magic.
3. Emily - ★★☆☆☆
I found "The Handbook of Magic and Chemistry" to be quite disappointing. The author tried to blend two intriguing disciplines together, but the execution fell short. The chemistry explanations were rudimentary and lacked in-depth analysis, which left me wanting more. The magic aspect was even worse, with vague descriptions and no practical applications provided. The book seemed more like a rushed summary of random science and magic facts, rather than a cohesive guide to understanding their interplay. I would not recommend this book for anyone looking to gain a deeper understanding of either subject.
