Brooks tells her that her trial starts now because Oldragaid found out that she is Justice Evergreen's daughter. They lock Brystal in a cage and throw a sheet over it so no one can see her. The Prosecution Deputy, who is her brother Barrie, is brought in. Brooks isn't allowed to tell him who the "criminal" in the cage is. Barrie recommend the maximum penalty which means "execution". Oldragaid said that the execution should happen immediately. Barrie is horrified of what he has done. But before the executioner cut Brystal's head down, her father storms in the room and stops the execution. Now Brystal has to be sent to the Bootstrap Correctional Facility For Troubled Young Woman.

Mango I read that this was going to be a trilogy, so that would mean that this is the last book, which means I am complaining about it. However, the end of this book seems very unfinished so I think we need another. couple. books to help finish it up. We need to know why this stuff is never mentioned in TLOS, continuity errors, why everything is so different, etc. I want another one. Also, in the description, rather than saying "the third and final book" like in most series, it just says the third book, so there is still hope!
Jenna I thought it was going to be a 6 book series, but heard in one of his recent interviews that this series is a trilogy. Therefore, this would be the 3rd and final.
Joey Olechno I would hope that we could at least get the same amount of the Land of Stories. It's interesting to know what everything was like before Alex and Connor were born (before they merged the worlds and time caught up). Although, it doesn't beat the Land of Stories series obviously, it's like a prologue series to them.
Shivantika I'm pretty sure this will be the last, since I think he mentioned it would be a trilogy, but he's known for extending series (TLOS was originally just one book, then a duology, then it kept going on and on, but I'm not complaining haha). So we never know. Personally I think this series should come to end because it's just prequels and we know how it's going to end anyway.
