  • Once this place was a forest. There so many sages were living in this place with their wifes. This place was called as “Tharuka Vanam”.
  • They were doing “Yagna” (Kind of spiritual duty) as their worship.
  • They were in a thought that doing this kind of Yagna is enough to attain the “Mukthi” and there is no need to worship Lord Shiva.
  • Because of this attitude they were not ready to worship Lord Shiva. They felt that, they were the superiors.
  • Lord Shiva wanted to teach a lesson to them. He came here as a Bhikshatanar which is the beautiful “Avathar” (one of the apperance) of Lord Sri Shiva.
  • People were so impressed with the beauty of Lord Shiva. Sri Vishnu also came here at the same time as a “Mohini” (one of the womanly apperance) of Lord Sri Vishnu.
  • The sages of “Tharukavana” were so impressed with the beauty of the Mohini. They forgot to preform the “Yagna”.
  • When the came to know that Lord Shiva appeared here to teach a lesson to them, they created an elephant (“Gaja Sura”) from the Yagna to destroy Lord Shiva.
  • Lord Shiva got into the elephant. Lord unwraped the skin of the elephent and wrapped on him. Hence the Lord here is called as “Kari Urittha Sivan”. The Tamil words “Kari” means elephent and “Urrithal” means unwrap. Ultimately God Shiva destroyed that Gaja(Elephant). Hence Lord shiva here called as “Gaja Samhara Moorthi”.

I visited the Temple for eradicating black magic nearby, expecting a spiritual and calming experience. However, I was disappointed with the overall atmosphere of the temple. The place felt crowded and noisy, making it difficult to concentrate or find solace. Additionally, the temple seemed more focused on commercialization rather than providing a genuine spiritual experience. The constant presence of vendors selling trinkets and souvenirs distracted from the supposed purpose of the temple. Overall, I found the experience underwhelming and not worth the visit.

My visit to the Temple for eradicating black magic nearby was a complete waste of time. From the moment I stepped inside, I was overwhelmed by the touristy and chaotic environment. The temple was full of people jostling for space, and there was no sense of peace or tranquility. Moreover, the temple seemed more interested in extracting money from visitors through various donation schemes and overpriced items. I expected a genuinely spiritual experience, but instead, I left feeling disappointed and frustrated. I would not recommend this temple to anyone seeking a meaningful connection with their spirituality.

I had heard a lot about the Temple for eradicating black magic nearby, so I decided to visit it during my trip. However, I was left unimpressed by the whole experience. The temple was overcrowded, making it difficult to move around or find a quiet place for contemplation. Additionally, the constant noise from tourists and vendors diminished any sense of serenity. The commercialization of the temple was also evident, with money being the primary focus rather than spiritual guidance. Overall, I felt the temple was more of a tourist attraction than a place of genuine spiritual significance.
