Dragon Communion Seal | Elden Ring Wiki

Dragon Communion Seal is a Sacred Seal in Elden Ring. The Dragon Communion Seal scales primarily with Faith and Arcane, and is a good Weapon for casters that focus on Dragon Communion Incantations.

Formless drakeblood seal with a dragon communion crest.

The sacrificial devouring of the heart gives power.
Indeed, Dragon Communion is too primal in nature for the term
"incantation" to be appropriate.
This seal scales incantations with one's arcane attribute.

Where to Find Dragon Communion Seal in Elden Ring

The Dragon Communion Seal weapon can be found at the following location:

  • Can be found at Fringefolk Hero's Grave, right under the beginning of the game. To get there, use two Stonesword Keys on the double Imp Keystone next to the Stranded GraveyardSite of Grace, and progress down the tunnel with the mechanized chariot until the path splits and you can go either up or down. Go up until you reach the end of the tunnel, and inside the small room is a Banished Knight that once killed will give you the item. [Interactive Map Link]

Elden Ring Dragon Communion Seal Notes & Tips

  • Weapon Skill: This armament has no skill. If the armament in the other hand has a skill, that skill will be used instead.
  • This weapon cannot be infused with Ashes of War.
  • Dragon Communion Seal can be upgraded by using Somber Smithing Stones.
  • Buffs Dragon Communion Incantations by 15%.
  • Will increase the buildup of Status Effects that spells cause, like madness for Frenzied Burst.
  • With healing and weapon buff spells, only the faith scaling applies.
  • This seal has a unique scaling curve. It scales much better with Arcane than Faith and at lower levels of investment, outshines the faith focused seals in terms of scaling. At 74 faith and above primarily faith scaling seals (Erdtree Seal and Godslayer's Seal) outperform this seal at the same level of stat investment (39/45 Fai/Arc for the Dragon Communion Seal)
  • This seal's scaling with Arcane also means it increases the Blood Loss, Poison and Madness build up of incantations cast (Frostbite and Scarlet Rot buildup are NOT increased). This makes it a better seal for Frenzied Flame Incantations against targets where Madness is applicable, as the Frenzied Flame Seal has comically bad overall scaling.
  • The unique scaling curve of this seal also gives it unique softcaps compared to other seals; it soft caps at 45 Arcane and 30 Faith and doesn't have another cap again at 80 like other seals. Since it scales better to Arcane than Faith, one should bring Arcane to 45, then Faith to 30 and then maximize stat investment to first 99 Arcane, then Faith to get the over all best damage out of it. Note however, this will bring the character way above PvP meta levels, so 45 Arcane/30 Faith is the most reasonable investment for level 120-150 builds, not considering any other Arcane scaling weapons the player might use alongside this seal, which might have soft caps at different levels of investment.
  • Dragon Communion Incantations include Dragonclaw, Dragonfire, Dragonice, Dragonmaw, Borealis's Mist, Agheel's Flame, Ekzykes's Decay, Glintstone Breath, Greyoll's Roar, Smarag's Glintstone Breath, Rotten Breath, Magma Breath, and Theodorix's Magma.
    • Despite their draconic appearance, Aspects of the Crucible: Breath, Aspects of the Crucible: Horns, and Aspects of the Crucible: Tail are not Dragon Communion incantations, and therefore are not affected by the Dragon Communion Seal.
    • Strangely, Placidusax's Ruin is also not a Dragon Communion incantation, and gains no buff from this seal. Unknown whether this is intended.

Would be really cool if this had that minor flame breath spell that the Banished Knights use as a skill. Would be a cool finishing touch for heavy builds, and the fact that it's weightless would be a great boon given how chunky the Banished Knight set is.

Can we just take a moment to appreciate how ridiculously cheap this thing is to upgrade? Just in case we didn't have enough reasons to love it.

The other thing I love about it: you don't even need to fight the Banished Knight in the hero's grave for it. If the chariot is still alive, you can just aggro him with whatever and, in the time it takes him to stand up and come after you, you can run out of his melee range and back down to the last alcove you passed on the way to him. He'll do the default Banished Knight thing of walking slowly toward you with his shield up, which will all but guarantee he'll still be walking down the chariot's path when the chariot returns. It'll run him over once, turn around, and run him over again before he gets up from the first hit (which will kill him even if he was at full health to start with). All you have to do is make doubly sure you don't get killed by anything on your way to pick up the seal.

Most stat efficient seal in the game, especially when combo'd with the Silver Tear Mask (rip fashion). Gets 318 Incant Scaling at 30 Faith, 37 Arcane (+8 from Silver Tear Mask to get to 45), which can be achieved at only level 48 on a Prophet. To exceed that with Erdtree Seal you need 72 Faith, which requires a minimum of level 63 on a Prophet, so 15 levels higher. To exceed it with Golden Order Seal you need 41/40 or 40/41 Int/Faith, which requires a minimum of level 64 on an Astrologer, so 16 levels higher.

Is it the best seal in the game if you want to do absolute maximum damage? No, but it gives insane amounts of power much earlier than any other seal, by way of it being available right at the start of the game, being flat out the most stat-efficient seal, and also being a Somber Stone item. Also if you're using Dragon Incants it has an effective Incant Scaling of around 366, which would take literally 99 Faith to exceed with Erdtree Seal. Dragon Incants also have the massive advantage of now being able to leverage Roar Medallion, which is 10% extra damage very, very early in the game that beats out even Flock's Canvas Talisman for raw damage, though using both is probably the best option for dragon builds.

You can get a +5 Seal very early by rushing to Iji by skipping Stormveil, and using the teleporter to the right of Academy Gate town which should take you to right in front of Kingsrealm Ruins where Iji is right behind. You can simply buy Somber Stones 1,2,3, and 4 from him. The 5th can be found in the canyon to the right of the exit of Sellia Crystal Tunnel, so also accessible very early. Marika's Scarseal is also available quite early in Siofra which is just down the well in Mistwood. If you kill Greyoll, level 35 is also available to you. In probably under 30-40 minutes you can have 20 Vigor, 17 Mind, 20 Faith, and 30 Arcane with a +5 Seal, and a Roar Medallion. With the 197 Incant Scaling,Roar Medallion, and Flame Grant Me Strength (also available early by just riding Torrent there), Dragonfire did 1,935 damage to the Secluded Cell Troll, with Catch Flame dealing 435 damage. Those numbers are just flat out unbeatable for every other seal that early in the game.

    1. Jennifer - 2/5 stars - I was really excited to read the "Sacred amulet box set 1-9" after hearing so many great things about it. However, I was extremely disappointed. The characters were underdeveloped and lacked depth, making it difficult for me to connect with any of them. The plot was also quite predictable, with no major surprises or twists. Overall, I found the writing to be lackluster and the story to be unoriginal.
    2. Mark - 3/5 stars - While I didn't hate the "Sacred amulet box set 1-9," I couldn't help but feel underwhelmed by it. The storyline had potential, but it fell short in execution. The pacing was inconsistent, with some parts dragging on for far too long while others felt rushed and lacking in detail. Additionally, I found some of the dialogue to be cheesy and the overall writing style to be mediocre. Overall, it wasn't terrible, but it definitely didn't live up to the hype for me.
    3. Sarah - 2/5 stars - I'm sorry to say that I didn't enjoy the "Sacred amulet box set 1-9" at all. The writing felt amateurish and unpolished, with numerous grammatical errors and awkward sentence structures. The dialogue was unrealistic and poorly written, making it difficult for me to engage with the characters or believe in their interactions. Furthermore, the worldbuilding was lacking, leaving me feeling disconnected from the story. Overall, I found this box set to be a disappointing read.
