Exploring the Challenges Faced by Rune Mouratoglou After the Split

By admin

Rune Mouratoglou split refers to the ending of the professional partnership between tennis player Casper Ruud and coach Gilles Cervara. Rune Mouratoglou had been serving as the coach of Casper Ruud, but due to personal reasons, the two decided to split. Rune Mouratoglou, son of renowned tennis coach Patrick Mouratoglou, had been working closely with Casper Ruud to help him improve his game and achieve success on the professional tennis circuit. However, it was announced that the partnership between the two was coming to an end, signaling a split in their professional relationship. While the exact reasons for the split have not been explicitly disclosed, it is believed that personal reasons played a role in the decision. Sometimes, athletes and coaches decide to part ways due to differences in goals, methods, or personalities.

BREAKING: Holger Rune splits with Patrick Mouratoglou!

The relationship between Danish tennis player Holger Rune and former Serena Williams' coach Patrick Mouratoglou has officially ended. The mother of the young tennis player, Anike, announced it to the media. She told: "It just didn’t work out.

Right now it is important that Holger finds the right team, that he can have for a long time. He has decided that isn’t with Patrick." The Danish tennis player has just been eliminated in the first round of the 2023 US Open by Roberto Carballes Baena in four sets.

Holger Rune's mom announces his son's partnership with Mouratoglou now definitely over.

"It just didn’t work out. Right now it is important that Holger finds the right team, that he can have for a long time. He has decided that isn’t with Patrick”, she told @jakobkloecker.

Sometimes, athletes and coaches decide to part ways due to differences in goals, methods, or personalities. Rune Mouratoglou had been instrumental in guiding Casper Ruud on his journey in professional tennis. During their partnership, Ruud achieved notable success, including winning his first ATP title and achieving a career-high ranking.

The Holger Rune controversy in New York

Holger Rune's premature elimination at the US Open cannot be considered a real surprise.

The Dane had to deal with a back injury in recent weeks and, during the match with Roberto Carballes Baena, he required the intervention of a physiotherapist due to a problem with his left leg. The Spaniard took advantage of the situation and defeated the number four seed by the final score of 6-3, 4-6, 6-3, 6-2.

On the eve of the last Grand Slam of the year, Rune had made fun of the decision made by the tournament organizers who planned his debut on Court 5. At the press conference, the 20-year-old reiterated: "It's not difficult to play on this field, but it's different.

You are closer to the audience. The atmosphere is beautiful. I just didn't expect to play on this court. I think it's normal, when you climb the ranks, to get some benefits and play in better conditions. This is the way the ATP has always done him with all players.

They didn't do it with me. It's disappointing, but I absolutely don't want to blame the court for today's loss. He was very solid and I congratulate him. I posted that tweet just for fun. Obviously I wasn't happy when I saw the show.

I tried to get an explanation and they told me what we all already know: they prefer to have American tennis players play on the main courts. All right, I'm used to it. But this is not the reality. It's hard, because when you ask more questions, they don't answer anymore." Rune then focused on the complicated approach to the US Open: "They have been difficult weeks.

I had a setback after the tournaments in Toronto and Cincinnati, where I also had to withdraw. It was not the best preparation in sight of a Grand Slam. I'm not satisfied with the result and neither with my tennis. There's only one way to go forward: keep working."

Mouratoglou and Rune end their “6-month adventure”

Patrick Mouratoglou will no longer accompany Holger Rune on the ATP Tour, the Frenchman said on Monday.

The pair were together on Tour for six months, twice as long as initially planned, during which time the Dane reached the world’s top 10 and won his first Masters 1000 title.

Mouratoglou, the co-founder of Tennis Majors, confirmed the news in a statement on social media.

“Holger! We’ve successfully completed our mission and ended up having an incredible 6-month adventure, exceeding our original plan of 3 months,” he said.

“It was a pleasure to share this journey with you. Your energy and enthusiasm made it even more special. I have no doubt that your bright future holds amazing things. I remain your biggest fan and I keep an eye on you with the @mouratoglou_academy team.”

And Rune issued his own statement, thanking Mouratoglou for his time and impact.

“Thank you so much for your help to the team, Patrick It’s been great learning for me on many levels on and off court and a lot of good energyI will take all your advise with me onwards See you soon at the academy,” he wrote on Instagram.

Maybe, but the way he talks to his mother during matches is disgraceful. Also, the antics that he pulls on the court such as faking injury and arguing with the umpire to waste time, remind me of Anna Kournikova.

That's one thing I don't dislike Rune for. The way his mother behaves is at baseline disgraceful and she is probably the biggest reason he acts like he does. Similar sort of dynamic between tsitsipas and his dad.

Because Rune is the most talented ball-striker since Agassi.
Just because you don't coach him, doesn't mean you don't attend his matches.

They haven't. They're solidly together, despite the lies given out by the Rune camp. The big (unreported by all but the Dutch media) is that Holger's coach since age 6, Lars Christenson, is toast. Sad to see.

Read the Dutch media, PM is his coach, Lars is out.

An official announcement on Twitter means absolutely nothing when the moment they made it, Patrick was still sitting in the box and actively coaching him.

They made the announcement after Indian Wells, Yep Patrick was sitting in his box and coaching him in Monte Carlo, Madrid, and now Rome. It’s not rocket science to figure it out.

Rune was at it again yesterday against Djokovic. Novak starts to make a comeback and he goes up 5-2 in the second set, so Rune starts arguing with the umpire about line calls and asks, well actually yells at the umpire, for a Physio for a "leg injury." He successfully broke Novak's momentum and ran like a deer as soon as his injury time out concluded.

It's this type of behavior and general lack of respect or appreciation for any of his opponents that sours me, and many others, on this kid. Ultimately, these type of behaviors will only detract from his career, but as I mentioned earlier, I doubt that he thinks he is doing anything wrong, and thus will never make any changes.

Rune is the complete opposite of Alcaraz in this regard. Alcaraz is all class, and Rune is just an ass.

Its a very weird situation. There is nothing about it in the Danish media.

Lars has been there since the beginning and in the last few years he has tried to make Rune more reliant on himself and it has been clear that he thinks its wrong that Rune has to use his box excessevily.

Obviously Lars has a problem with Mouratoglou and the whole "two coaches situation".

Time will tell. I personally hope Lars stays in his team. I think its a great story that he has been his coach since the age of 6.

Please share if you can locate it, I'd be so interested to see it. Holger said yesterday in his presser he's still with Lars, but I find it hard to believe, something else is going on. He's not been in the Rune box since Marseille and that was February. Lars was absent in Acapulco, IW, Miami, MC, Madrid and Rome. Patrick has been there every match, they fly to tournaments on Patrick's private jet and PM is shadowing Rune every damn second. Lars is back in Copenhagen.

See the Twitter quote from mommy Rune about this, it's sort of a word salad, not revealing that much.

I personally think Lars has been relieved of his coaching duties and the Rune team is trying to keep that secret, which is poor P.R. and idiotic. If Lars doesn't show up at RG, it's over and they're handling it very poorly.

Here's an article from Dutch media from last week and it all sounds like nonsense to me, they keep saying Lars will return and PM will exit and it never happens:

Holger's coach is gone again: Drops tournament in Rome

Holger Rune has not had his long-time coach in his box for more than a month. Now Lars Christensen confirms that the reunion in Rome has been dropped

. Aneke Rune tells TV2 that Lars Christensen is still associated with the coaching team and that there is no question of a definite coaching change.

Before the start of the clay season, it was announced that Rune's collaboration with star coach Patrick Mouratoglou would end, and Lars Christensen would continue his coaching duties.

But a few days before the start of the tournament in Monte Carlo in April, those plans were changed, and Mouratoglou wanted to continue working with Rune instead, while Lars Christensen wanted to take a holiday at home in Denmark.

Runes træner sætter ord på pludseligt fravær

Holger Runes træner Lars Christensen mener, det har været positivt for begge parter, at de to har holdt en pause.

sport.tv2.dk

What happened in my opinion is, that Rune (or his mom) wanted more energy to his game from his box and Lars is more a quiet guy. Lars opposed this because he wanted Rune to find the inner strenght and used Munich to say: see what I told you.

Rules were not clear on who was the head coach and Lars felt that PM took his role. Which is quite obvious that PM tried to do that since he brought his analyst Mike James to the team.

It might not have been what Rune wanted with all this drama. But its clear he grew up in the last 2-3 months.
I dont know what is the best for Rune, but I dislike the self-pronounced silverback PM.

I didnt see that Rune said yesterday that Lars is still his coach. But fingers crossed
Its basically a lot of drama…

Sadly, Holger continues on with nauseating Patrick as his coach at the French Open:

Holger chooses Patrick: Lars Christensen not in Paris

Aneke Rune now confirms that Lars Christensen will not be present during Roland Garros

Holger Rune has once again chosen to take French Patrick Mouratoglou into the box, says Aneke Rune.

Now it probably feels most natural for Holger to take Roland-Garros with Patrick, as he has participated in the initial clay tournaments - except for Munich. Lars has been involved in messages and on the phone along the way, she says.

Lars has trained Holger Rune since he was a child. But in the current season, the Dane has excelled in his absence at several major tournaments. Lars has thus not been found in Rune's box since March, when he was with the Dane for Indian Wells and the Miami Open, and this has led many to speculate whether a change of coach is on the way.

The Rune camp itself has downplayed the speculation - most recently before the recently concluded tournament in Rome.

Aneke Rune informed TV 2 Sport that it is not a question of a permanent change of coach , but that it has been about distributing the resources - although without concretely elaborating on the reason for the changes.

Mouratoglou Releases Statement After Parting Ways With Rune

Patrick Mouratoglou is out of Holger Rune's coaching team as they decided to part ways, and he's now issued a statement.

Somewhat of a rockstar coach, Mouratoglou has amassed a sizeable following on social media through his various platforms over the years. Even so, his bread and butter is coaching, and he's a big name in those circles.

Best known as the former coach of Serena Williams, Mouratoglou has since gone on to coach several other players, including Simona Halep, whose coach he still is. He also worked with Holger Rune as Halep remains suspended, and it's been quite a ride.

They worked together for nine months but recently elected to split as Rune's mother explained that there was a lot of clashing between the coaches in the team. Mouratoglou has now offered some words on the split, though he mostly wished Rune good luck in the future.

Swiatek Facing Difficult Obstacle At US Open: Opponent She Never Beat

What a ride @holgerrune2003 ! In 9 months, winning Paris, playing final of Monte Carlo and Rome, winning Stockholm and Munich…. From 30 to no4 ATP. Unfortunately, all the stories have to come to an end. I took the utmost pleasure with you and I will always be your supporter. All @mouratoglouacademy stays behind you. Good luck my friend.

Mouratoglou on X

The split isn't quite shocking, as Rune has been in a funk for a while now. He hasn't looked very good since Wimbledon, though some of that has to do with the sickness that plagued him during the Hopman Cup, as well as some minor injuries.

The Dane didn't look healthy during his US Open match, and he kind of confirmed that he's been dealing with some stuff but didn't want to miss the event. It remains to be seen what he does in the coming weeks with Mouratoglou now out of the picture.

He amassed quite a lot of ATP points on the indoor swing late last year, and defending those will be a priority.

Rune mouratoglou split

The split between Ruud and Mouratoglou marked the end of a successful chapter in their collaboration. Following the split, Casper Ruud announced that he would be working with his father, Christian Ruud, as his new coach. Casper expressed gratitude towards Rune Mouratoglou for his guidance and support and emphasized that the decision was mutual and amicable. The Rune Mouratoglou split serves as a reminder of the transient nature of professional partnerships in sports. It highlights the importance of finding a coach that aligns with an athlete's goals and needs. As Casper Ruud embarks on a new coaching journey with his father, it will be interesting to see how this change impacts his performance and career trajectory going forward..

The plot was predictable and cliché, and there were several inconsistencies throughout the book. Overall, I wouldn't recommend wasting your time on this one.
