Pete Davidson, a man known for making big purchases, has revealed his newest get-rich-quick scheme.

The comedian, who is set to host Saturday Night Live this week, says he has purchased somewhere between three to five thousand sealed VHS tapes that he hopes to one day sell for a massive profit.

"I started collecting VHSes that were sealed in the box like three years ago 'cause I was really high one night," Davidson said on The Tonight Show. "So listen to this, guys: In 2026, it'll be 20 years since the last VHS was made, right? So 20 years goes by — that's enough time for people to be like, 'Oh, that was cool, remember?' Like vinyl? So I bought all the sealed ones that exist — like, three to five thousand tapes."

When host Jimmy Fallon and the crowd began to laugh at the absurdity of it all, Davidson pretended to be outraged, shouting, "You guys sound like my mom! No one believes in me!"

Fallon then proceeded to show off a series of photographs featuring several boxes of sealed VHS tapes for a variety of films, plus a massive pile of unopened packages that seem to hold even more. Joked Davidson, "That's at my assistant's house and his girlfriend is very mad at him."

Turns out, Davidson might actually be onto something. "As of a month ago, sealed VHSes are now going for 20 to 30,000 grand a pop!" he exclaimed. "Rocky just sold for $27,000. It's my GameStop. I own all of them, dude! Dude, no one believed in me! It's gonna happen, you guys!"

"It's a disaster," Fallon replied.

Davidson then closed his eyes and put his hand to his face before replying, "Dude, if it doesn't work, I'm going to be on the road forever."
