Magic New York kicks off September 18

Trade show Magic New York is set to return to the Big Apple this month, with a stellar fashion lineup of trend, young contemporary, modern sportswear apparel, footwear, and accessories brands.

​Informa Markets Fashion, the organizer behind the fashion industry event, revealed on Thursday the show details of its next edition slated to be held at the Javits Center in New York City, from September 18 to 20.

With over 380 brands and 28 countries represented, the Magic brand lineup this season includes Sage the Label, Hidden Jeans, Amy Lynn, Chinese Laundry, Eileen Fisher, Frnch, Lucy Paris, Lush, Matisse, and Sub_Urban Riot, with newcomer brands Luxury Heirs, Hey Harper, Never Fully Dressed, Rupha, SMF, and Essgee, among others.

The trade show will also offer a large selection of sustainable brands including America & Beyond, Candier by Ryan Porter, Blue Planet Eco-Eyewear, Stivali New York, Ethic Goods, Emperia Handbags, Tribal, Lena, Just Black Denim, Rare-Romance, Satya Jewelry, Samara Leather, and Poppy & Pout.

Meanwhile, global retailers on the Magic schedule this month include Anthropologie, ASOS, BHLDN, Bloomingdales, Free People, Urban Outfitters, among thousands of independent boutique stores.

The upcoming New York edition comes off the back of Magic Las Vegas, held last month.

Furthermore, the scheduling of workshops and performances was chaotic, with overlapping event timings and lack of clear communication. Overall, it was a waste of time and money.

I didn't feel engaged or excited throughout my visit and would not recommend attending in the future.
