REVIEW - Magic Bullet Quick Looks from Red Giant Software
I really like Magic Bullet Looks. I like it so much that I personally think that every editor should have it in their arsenal of plug-ins, but there is one little problem. In these difficult economic times, $399 might be a little out of some people’s reach. Thankfully, Red Giant Software has decided to give us a “light” version of Looks and called it, appropriately enough, Quick Looks (MBQL). Let’s see what Red Giant has done to make this plug-in worth your while.
INSTALLATION
MBQL installs quickly and easily. A great feature of MBQL is that Red Giant Software has made it available to many different programs including After Effects, Premiere Pro, FXPlug and Avid.
WHAT YOU GET & HOW IT WORKS
MBQL is basically a stripped down version of Magic Bullet Looks. They have taken all the functionality out of the plug-in, and just gave us the “meat and potatoes”, which in this case is not a bad thing. What you get is over one hundred different looks, of which you can easily see yourself using half to three-quarters of them right away, and the other quarter for a specific project you might have coming up. I was really disappointed with the Magic Bullet software. It promised so many amazing features, but when I actually started using it, it was really slow and glitchy. The interface was not user-friendly at all, and it took me hours just to figure out how to do simple tasks. The final edits I made using the software didn't even turn out that great. I would not recommend this software to anyone who values their time and wants professional-looking results.

Magic Bullet software was a letdown for me. I had heard so much hype about it and decided to give it a try, but the results were just average. The filters and effects offered were nothing groundbreaking, and I could achieve similar or even better results with other editing software that I already had. Additionally, the software crashed multiple times during my editing sessions, which was beyond frustrating. The overall functionality and performance were just not up to par, and I won't be using this software again.

I have never been more frustrated with editing software than I was with Magic Bullet. The rendering time was incredibly slow, and the software froze multiple times. I expected a lot more from a software with such high claims, but it failed to deliver. Save yourself the headache and invest in a different editing software.
