Exploring the Healing Properties of the Magic Waterfall

By admin

The magic waterfall is a fascinating natural wonder that captivates the imagination of all those who see it. Located deep within a lush forest, this enchanting waterfall is said to possess mystical powers, making it a popular destination for those seeking to experience its magical properties. The waterfall itself is stunning, with water cascading down a series of rocky ledges, creating a mesmerizing display of colors and sounds. The sight of the water sparkling and glistening in the sunlight, combined with the soothing sound of its gentle flow, creates a sense of tranquility and wonder. What sets the magic waterfall apart from others is its rumored ability to grant wishes. Legend has it that if one stands before the waterfall and makes a sincere wish, it will be granted.

Waterfalls are often an invitation to meditate, to let our philosophical in thoughts flow with the water, to enjoy their “silence” and let our emotions free..
I have always been intrigued by their beauty, sounds and sheer brilliance.
Waterfalls are magical creations of nature. They really push you into the realm of such positivity due to their unending symphony. They always have that hidden message that falling won’t hurt, whether philosophically or photographically.

“Beyond the world” by Damian Stoszko (Czech Republic)

Mother Earth has blessed us with so many of those jewels.
Some are and will be there from inception to eternity.
Some are seasonal like the small unknown rivulets flowing peacefully through the forests or downhill.
Some are overwhelming by their size and sounds, some are mesmerizing by their structure and calm.

We, photographers tend to experiment with those beautiful natural phenomenons by creating fine art. We use neutral density filters to make them look silky or fast shutter speeds to freeze the motion. We like to have a human figure to show the scale. We take advantage of sunrises, sunsets or Northern lights to make them look even more magical. The combination of waterfalls and their surroundings give us a myriad of chances to create fantastic images. Waterfalls are one of the most photographed natural phenomena since they are - in a certain way - easy to lign up with our philosophical thoughts.

The Magic of Waterfalls

What is it about waterfalls that pull us to them? Is it their spectacular natural beauty? The roar of the water as it descends a precipice? Or is it because, on the deepest level of our psyche, we know they are good for us? Not just psychologically speaking, but in actual health terms?

“There is a waterfall in every dream. Cool and crystal clear, it falls gently on the sleeper, cleansing the mind and soothing the soul.” ― Virginia Alison

Science is proving that our natural attraction to waterfalls, our need to cleanse the mind and soothe the soul in their shadow, might actually be based on a real mental and physical need. It's the same reason we flock to lakes, oceans, and rivers when we feel the need to 'get away from it all'.

Falling water from fountains, waterfalls, crashing surf at the beach, babbling brooks, and even your morning shower, release negative ions into the surrounding atmosphere and these ions have a profound effect on our physical well-being.

Negative ions, which are atoms or molecules that have gained one or more extra negatively charged electrons, are inhaled in abundance in certain environments such as waterfalls. When water molecules collide, the water becomes positively charged, but the surrounding air becomes negatively charged. As the droplets of water are released, smaller droplets interact with the air, and the air molecules become negatively charged.

Once they reach our bloodstream, they are believed to produce biochemical reactions, such as increasing levels of the mood chemical serotonin, helping to alleviate depression, relieve stress, and boost our daytime energy. They are also believed to boost the immune system, kill or inhibit the growth of harmful bacteria, and increase the metabolism of carbs and fats. Who knew waterfalls could be slimming?

"Generally speaking, negative ions increase the flow of oxygen to the brain; resulting in higher alertness, decreased drowsiness, and more mental energy," says Pierce J. Howard, PhD, author of The Owner's Manual for the Brain: Everyday Applications from Mind Brain Research and director of research at the Center for Applied Cognitive Sciences in Charlotte, N.C.

One of the most well-known and spectacular waterfalls, Niagara Falls in Canada may contain between 30,000 and 100,000 negative ions per cubic centimetre. Niagara Falls also happens to be the wedding capital of the country, with countless photos of happy couples being taken against the backdrop of the fall's turbulent, mystical mist.

One has to wonder, are they there simply for the awe-inspiring scenery? Or are they there because waterfalls really can induce feelings of happiness and well-being, two things needed in abundance on any honeymoon? Of course, feeling in the best of health does wonders for the libido too, or as Stewart Stafford once said, “Niagara Falls, Viagra rises.”

But a waterfall's effects on us are not just internal. They actually clean the air too. Negative ions also bond with impurities in the air, adhering to suspended particles and removing them, producing the clean air we find in mountain ranges and the countryside away from pollution.

So the next time you are feeling run down and stressed out by life in general, you could do worse than make your way to your nearest waterfall because, as Roland R Kemler says, “There's no better place to find yourself than sitting by a waterfall and listening to its music.”

The Best Magic Falls Huatulco Tour – 2022

As someone who lives in Huatulco year-round, I have admittedly failed to participate in many of the excursions that travellers like to do when they adventure in the area. But when my mum was visiting me in Huatulco in early 2022 I was “forced” to indulge in some of the more “touristy” adventures, and honestly, it was a lot of fun! But it was on our trip to the Magic Falls Huatulco (well actually, Copalita) that I truly realized how much I had been missing in Huatulco!

We enjoyed Magic Falls so much that I recommend the trip, even if you are only in Huatulco for a few days – its that amazing! Here you will find all the information you need about the best Magic Falls tours to take on your trip to Huatulco!

Legend has it that if one stands before the waterfall and makes a sincere wish, it will be granted. Many visitors travel far and wide to experience this phenomenon, hoping to have their desires fulfilled. The magic waterfall is not just a place for wish fulfillment; it is also a place of healing and rejuvenation.

About Magic Falls Huatulco

Las Cascadas Magicas de Copalita, or “Magic Falls” are a series of waterfalls located in the district of Copalita, very near to Huatulco, about an hour and half’s drive from the centre of Las Bahías to Huatulco. They are also sometime referred to as “Las Brisas”.

Due to the lush terrain of the Sierra Madre mountains, Huatulco is actually in close proximity to a lot of waterfalls! Within a couple of hours drive you could visit the Emerald Falls, Llano Grande, or the waterfalls inside other adventures like the Hagia Sofia gardens and eco-park.

But the best falls to visit on a trip to Huatulco by far are the Cascadas Magicas. Because the Magic Falls are just that, magical! This series of waterfalls starts with a towering beauty that stretches 70m up into the mountains. You stand in the small pools of refreshing, but still warm water and take it all in.

But there’s more! Following the stairs carved into the rocks on the left of the falls, you will come to discover a small cave. This cave is hiding a small pool (the water is much more “refreshing” here) and allows you to peek through the crashing water to the pools and people below.

I’m sorry, but how cute are we?!

From there, the water flows down through a series of pools and backwaters that are crystal clear and wonderful to swim in. The trail weaves back and forth across the water, giving many options for swimming and exploring.

One of the lower pools has a rope swing set up for some added adventure, but I could have just sat on a rock and basked in the beauty of the water, rocks, and greenery for hours.

Magic waterfall

The mist that rises from the waterfall is said to have curative properties, promoting physical and emotional well-being. People come to bathe in this mist, seeking relief from ailments or simply to revitalize their spirits. The surrounding forest adds to the mystique of the magic waterfall. With its towering trees, vibrant flowers, and diverse wildlife, the forest has an otherworldly aura. Many believe that the energy of the forest enhances the power of the waterfall, making it an even more potent source of magic. Visiting the magic waterfall is an adventure in itself. The journey to reach this hidden gem involves traversing winding pathways, braving treacherous terrain, and navigating through thick foliage. However, the reward of witnessing the breathtaking beauty and experiencing its magic makes it all worthwhile. Whether one believes in the powers of the magic waterfall or not, there is no denying its undeniable allure. Its beauty, tranquility, and the stories surrounding it make it an enchanting destination for anyone seeking a touch of magic in their lives..
