About the Author
MARY POPE OSBORNE is the author of the New York Times number one bestselling Magic Tree House series. She and her husband, writer Will Osborne (author of Magic Tree House: The Musical), live in northwestern Connecticut with their three dogs. Ms. Osborne is also the coauthor of the companion Magic Tree House Fact Trackers series with Will, and with her sister, Natalie Pope Boyce.
SAL MURDOCCA has illustrated more than 200 children's trade and text books. He is also a librettist for children's opera, a video artist, an avid runner, hiker, and bicyclist, and a teacher of children's illustration at the Parsons School of Design. 1. Samantha - 2 stars - I found "Magic Tree House: Dolphins at Daybreak" to be a rather dull and uneventful read. The plot was quite thin, and the characters lacked depth. The story followed Jack and Annie as they embark on an adventure to find the lost city of Atlantis, but the journey itself felt rushed and lacking in excitement. Additionally, I found the writing style to be quite simplistic, even for a children's book. Overall, I was disappointed with this installment in the Magic Tree House series.
2. Michael - 1 star - I have to say, "Magic Tree House: Dolphins at Daybreak" was a complete letdown for me. The storytelling felt incredibly rushed, with little time for proper character development or world-building. The plot itself was predictable and lacked any sense of suspense or intrigue. The dolphins, which I expected to play a significant role in the story, were barely even mentioned. It's a shame since the previous books in the series had been enjoyable, but this one fell flat for me.
