Once upon a time, in a small village nestled deep in the woods, there lived a little witch named Stean. She had always been fascinated by magic and potion-making ever since she was a young girl. Stean had a mischievous nature and was often found exploring the enchanted forest surrounding her home. Her small cottage was hidden among the thick trees, covered in ivy and moss. Stean loved spending her days experimenting with new potions and spells, hoping to uncover new magical abilities. She had a knack for creating unique concoctions that could heal wounds, grant temporary invisibility, and even teleport objects to different locations.
Magical Battle Arena later received a Rule ⑨ Spiritual Successor with Touhou Sky Arena which was recently released on PlayStation 4 and Play Station Vita, with a Nintendo Switch version released later. A sequel, Magical Battle Arena NEXT, has also been been released in two versions - one side of the cast consists of the Sky Arena versions of Touhou Project characters, while the other side has magical girls including Nanoha (based on her movie incarnation), Illyasviel von Einzbern (in her Prisma Illya incarnation) and even Punie Tanaka.
The original game was first released on August 17th, 2008 during Comiket 74, with it s Lyrical Pack expansion being released on December 30th of the same year. There s also the bosses Ruru and Nowel, with the former being loud, energetic and specializing in close range combat and the latter being calm, collected and skilled at picking off her opponents from afar.

Description
Magical Battle Arena NEXT (魔法少女VS幻想郷・マジカルバトルアリーナNEXT) is an Touhou/Mahou Shoujo crossover 3D arena shooter fangame, supporting up to 4-player online multiplayer. It features characters from Touhou as well as popular Mahou Shoujo franchises, including Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya, Cardcaptor Sakura, Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha, Slayers, and Dai Mahou Touge. The basic gameplay is very similar to Touhou Sky Arena: Matsuri Climax, where you use various melee and ranged attacks as well as spells to beat your opponents, but has a much more fluid combat system. Originally released as two separate but combinable Gensokyo and Mahou Shoujo sides, it allowed characters, stages, and music from the two games to be played as a single combined game. The newer integrated version features Story Mode, an original character, and comes precombined and ready to play.

The storm raged on, but the villagers remained safe, thanks to Stean's quick thinking and bravery. From that day on, Stean was no longer seen as a little witch in the woods but as a hero who had saved their village. Her kind heart and desire to help others had won the villagers' trust and respect.
