“I have a past with the Magic,” Rivers said Saturday. “I have no future. My future’s here.”

I think we’ve improved it greatly but it’s still not where… I haven’t reached my goal at all, and I’m fully aware of that.
“I am a goal seeker, that’s who my life has been and that’s my goal right now. That’s my only goal.”

Rivers caught some off guard earlier last week when he said Paul Pierce might be able to contribute down the stretch for the Clippers.
Before Thursday night in Denver, Pierce had not played since Feb. 5 in Boston.
“My job is just to be ready,” said Pierce, who plans to retire after this season. “I ain’t played too many games this year, so my job is just to stay ready.”
In his 19th NBA season, Piere said his lack of court time this season has not affected his approach.
“I’m thinking I’m going to play every game,” he said. “I prepare like I’m going to play every game. That’s how I prepare. I come here, I work, I prepare mentally, to get ready to play.”
Rivers said Thursday that Pierce could help out as a smaller power forward in certain lineups.
“He’s so smart,” Pierce said. “When we’re playing with the smaller four I think Paul can help us.”
Pierce started the second and fourth quarters for the Clippers against Cleveland, finishing with 5 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists in 9 minutes. Mid-way through the fourth he scored on a one-handed dunk from the baseline.
