Jerry Andrus: Mastering the Art of Visual Deception

By admin

Jerry Andrus (1918–2007) was an American magician and inventor known for his innovative magic tricks and optical illusions. He was born in Sheridan, Oregon and developed a deep interest in magic and illusions from a young age. Throughout his career, Andrus explored and created numerous original magic effects that baffled and amazed audiences. Andrus was particularly well-known for his close-up magic tricks that often relied on visual and psychological misdirection. He would use ordinary objects like cards, coins, and rubber bands to create illusions that seemed impossible to explain. His unique approach to magic combined sleight of hand, psychology, and innovative props to create effects that were both surprising and deceptive.

A hippie medical student named Mark inherits his uncle's Wild West theme park. Mark and his stoner pals move in, only to find out that a violent ghost already lives there.

CURSE OF THE HEADLESS HORSEMAN 1972 A phantom headless horseman who appears every night with a human head tucked under his arm lets it be known that he is searching for eight gunfighters while attacking hippies that run a Wild West themed park. Towards the end of the film, Mark suddenly decides that they should get married immediately and they are married by the local Justice of the Peace in the church at the western theme park.

Curse of the headless gorseman

His unique approach to magic combined sleight of hand, psychology, and innovative props to create effects that were both surprising and deceptive. But what truly set Andrus apart from other magicians was his ability to create optical illusions that seemed to defy the laws of physics. He developed a unique technique called "Paradox Boxes" that allowed him to create three-dimensional objects that appeared to be physically impossible.

CURSE OF THE HEADLESS HORSEMAN (1972) - DVD

A bunch of burn-out young people end up turning an old ranch that one of them inherited into a Woodstock-scene. A headless horseman haunts the ranch and is looking for heads. So low-budet it'll make you cringe. It's now being added the the triatholon of horror: BEAST OF YUCCA FLATS, THE CREEPING TERROR and MANOS - HAND OF FATE. It can ride side-by-side with this level of cinema. You need to be pretty brave to tackle this. Truly, exquisitely bad.
