Kim Harrison needs to be added to the witch series, she’s a witch who lives in a church with a vampire and pixies. The books are a hoot!

  • Danna - cozy mystery list says May 5, 2011 at 9:45 am
Thanks for telling us about Kim Harrison, Jaime. Totally agree. Best witch series ever!!

Heather Webber has a new book coming out in January that she is writing as Heather Blake – It Takes a Witch, the first in her Wishcraft Mystery series

  • Danna - cozy mystery list says May 6, 2011 at 5:21 pm

Thanks, Judith, for the heads-up. I have gone ahead and made a note of her Heather Webbers “new name” and her new Wishcraft Mystery Series. Thanks, again!

Does anyone know when the next Shirley Damsgaard book is due out? I am having withdrawal symptoms. I love her and Madelyn Alt.
Thanks! Cindy

  • Virginia Gruver says August 27, 2011 at 7:57 pm

Shirley is my critique partner. Not sure about the next Ophelia and Abby but she had a new book come out that is a women’s suspense under the name Jess McConkey – Love Lies Bleeding.

  • Danna - cozy mystery list says August 28, 2011 at 11:40 am

Thank you, Virginia, for telling us about Shirley Damsguard being Jess McConkey. (You must be a terrific critique partner!)

I will look it up! Thank you! Virginia :>

Hi Danna.
I just noticed your request for more books with Witch themes. I remembered about Hannah Svendson. Not sure of spelling, I’ll write it correctly after I can check it. The author is located in the ‘S’ section of Fiction and Literature at Borders. It is sort of a “cozy-fiction”. Thru a mixture of Business 101, witches, warlocks, gargoyles and what not, you get a really Fun read!
The main character-human female-it seems is immune to the spells cast on them by non-mortals. Non-mortals can then walk about freely without being discovered for what they really are.
But our heroine sees gargoyles, fairies, and all other such things everywhere she goes. She is then contacted by one of these strange-must be going to a party characters. That’s when the fun begins! And about the business part…OH BOY!…what fun with lots and lots and lots of action and adventure!

Hi,
This is in reply to Hannah Svendson witch series. The author actual is Shanna Swendson. As far as I know she wrote 4 books in this series featuring Katie Chandler. Katie has no magical abilities but is able to see all things magical. The series was a very fun read and I was sorry when I finished the last book.
Sincerely,
Carol

Kimberly Frost has three from her Southern Witch series and they are REALLY good. Would love to see you add her to this list. Thanks for such a great website! ; )

  • Danna - cozy mystery list says October 22, 2011 at 12:06 pm
Thanks, Julie, for telling us about Kimberly Frost’s Southern Witch series.

The Stacy Justice series by Barbra Annino is the best. You will fall in love with her and her Grandmother and 2 great-aunts and the entire crazy family! Powerful witches who are charming, hysterically funny with a bit of mystery, murder and mayhem tied in.

  • Danna - cozy mystery list says February 6, 2012 at 7:28 pm
Thank you, Camille, for telling us about Barbra Annino’s Stacy Justice (paranormal) Mystery Series.

Dolores Stewart Riccio is an author not to be missed for us lovers of all things witchy! She has seven (or 8?) books in her “The Divine Circle of…” Cass Shipton, owner of an herbal business and a group of friends in a library study group discover that magic actually works and so become a circle. Then they discover that each has a unique “quality” which is totally useful when it comes to solving the various murders that seem to follow them around. Thanks for the other suggestions and be sure to check these out!

Great comments Fantastic Site Never Stop I love the occult

Other authors I enjoy are Tonya Kappes, Mindy Klasky, H.P. Mallory, Rose Pressey. I have these is paperback, but have repurchased these on Nook & recently bought a Kindle paperwhite to keep up with the ones who are no longer with Barnes & Noble. I hope you enjoy any you may chose to try.

Lori H, I’m glad you posted this comment on the Witch Theme Mystery Series page. I just glanced at the page and see I hadn’t yet added Heather Blake (aka Heather Webber): Wishcraft Mystery Series to the list!

  • Stephen K says March 30, 2021 at 8:42 pm
I have been reading the Wishcraft Mysteries for a while now. So sad it has come to an end.

I think Barbra Annino belongs on this list! Her books are e-books and I read all of her Stacy Justice series (4 books so far) one right after the next. Enjoyed them!

  • Danna - cozy mystery list says August 27, 2013 at 1:57 pm

Thanks, Garity L, I just added Barbra Annino’s Stacy Justice Mystery Series to the Paranormal: Witch mystery books theme.

I just finished J.D. Shaw’s first book, called “Easy Bake Coven”. He is working on a second book. Has anyone else read his first book?

  • Danna - cozy mystery list says September 8, 2013 at 3:14 pm
Thanks, Gayle, for telling us about J.D. Shaw’s Vivienne Finch Magical Mystery Series. Ellery Adams’ Charmed Pie Shop mysteries need to be here. They’re wonderful!
  • Danna - cozy mystery list says January 17, 2014 at 7:14 am

Lisa, thank you for the suggestion. I wasn’t quite sure where I should put Ellery Adams’ Charmed Pie Shoppe Mystery Series. I wasn’t sure if they would qualify as a “Paranormal – Witch” theme. It became a question for me: Is Ella Mae actually a witch, or are her pies charmed without help from her as a witch? (That probably doesn’t make sense, but I hope it does.) At one point I thought I should maybe add a new paranormal theme… a “Magical Powers” type of theme. But then that led me to the question: Can someone have “magical powers” without being a type of “witch”?

  • Steve K. says March 23, 2022 at 10:29 am

I think in the Charmed Pie Series the main characters are fae (fairy) creatures. They had magical powers as well.

Maybe not witch enough but the the first book by Dawn Eastman
A family fortune mystery Is Pall in the Family – Kari Lee Townsend liked it and of course Bailey Cates with the Magical Bakery series
Newest Charms and Chocolate Chips. Sorry if everyone knows about these or they don’t belong but I really enjoyed them – the latter is a light witch. Have a magical day…

  • Danna - cozy mystery list says January 17, 2014 at 1:03 pm

Pata and Lisa, I am going to put up a new paranormal theme that will catch all of the NON Witch, Ghost, Psychic, and Vampire theme mysteries. It will be a Charmed, Enchanted, & Magical theme.

Just found this site. I love all witch mysteries and was unsure what was out there (knew of Madelyn Alt). Now I know where to look so I can keep on reading. Thank you.

Absolutely send anything Witchy my way!

Hi Danna, when I find an author whose writing I enjoy, I read everything that the person has written. After finishing Juliet Blackwell’s Lilly Ivory series, what other “witch” series would you, or anyone reading this, recommend?
Happy reading, Robin

  • Danna - cozy mystery list says July 23, 2015 at 2:56 pm

Robin, Bailey Cates (aka Cricket McRae) writes the Magical Bakery Mystery Series which seems pretty popular…

  • Robin says July 24, 2015 at 11:28 am
Thanks, Danna, I’ll check it out when I’m finished with all of Juliet Blackwell’s books.

So I need help!! Several years ago a read a cozy witch trilogy about a woman working in an herbalist shop somewhere in the south. She made perfumes that were actually spells. Loved them but can’t remember the author or the series.

  • Danna - cozy mystery list says December 28, 2016 at 12:20 am

Elise, you might be thinking of the Magic Potion Mysteries by Heather Blake? I’m not completely certain that she makes perfumes that are spells, but the other details seem to fit. Otherwise, hopefully someone else can make a suggestion!

  • Jessica says January 25, 2021 at 8:03 pm

Could it be the magical cures series by tonya kappes. If not check it out. They are a fast funny and cozy read.

Fantcfan, I haven’t heard anything about anyone picking up this series, or any of their other series.

Hi Danna, I have been reading a great witch series
“Witchless in Seattle Mystery Series” by Dakota Cassidy. She also has a new series starting
“Nun of Your Business Series”

Esme Addison’s has the Enchanted Bay Mystery series. I just read the first book in the series, A Spell For Trouble. It’s really good.

Hi,
I recently listened to an audiobook cozy mystery about a witch who worked as a wedding/events planner, but I can’t remember the name of the series or the author! Can anyone help? Thanks in advance!

  • Danna - cozy mystery list says June 17, 2021 at 3:56 am

Lelia, this doesn’t sound familiar to me, but I’m putting it up on a front page post so hopefully someone will be able to help you out.

  • Lelia Irvine says June 17, 2021 at 9:04 am

Danna,
Thanks so much. I found the series just a few days ago. It’s ‘A Touch of Magic series by Danielle Garrett.
One of the characters is now a crossover to her Beechwood Harbor series. Both series are so much fun.
Thanks again for thinking of me!

“Witch Way to Amethyst Bay” Book One and Two: by Catherine Wright is another book series to be added. It’s sold via Amazon. Book Three will be released this winter. Thanks!

How about the “A Witch of Edgehill”-Series (5 books till now) by Melissa Erin Jackson?
The setting is a fictional town named “Edgehill” where everyone is crazy about cats (e.g. street-, shop- and event-names are all cat-related, the protagonist does have two cats and she sells toys that are magical, most of them in cat-form) – so these books could also fit in the “cat”-category. 😀

Nancy Warren has at least 3 witchy mystery series–*The Vampire Knitting Club*, which has a witch as main character; *The Great Witches Baking Show*–which also includes recipes; *The Vampire Book Club*, with another witch as main character. The two series with “vampire” in the title, both feature witches as main characters and witchcraft as primary story elements, while the vampires are definitely secondary characters. As prolific as this writer is, she will probably have another series going before I actually post this. Helen Harper’s *The Lazy Girl’s Guide to Magic*, is yet another cozy witchy series, as is Christine Zane Thomas” *Witching Hour Cozy Mystery* series, which includes some additional supernatural/paranormal characters, but is definitely a witchy mystery series.

I just finished reading the first two books in Angela M. Sanders’ new Witch Way Librarian series. I enjoyed them very much and am hoping there will be additional books in the future. On the run from a scandal in D.C., librarian Josie Way takes a job at a small library in a former logging town in Oregon. On her journey she discovers she’s a witch. Besides with the mystery aspect, it is fun finding out –along with Josie– what her new found witchy powers can do.

I have 2 new series that I think fit the bill. One’s cozy, and while the other one isn’t, the author has been mentioned here before. I think one of these also belongs in the senior sleuths theme also.
The first one, is called Sunnyside Retired Witches Community, and it’s by Paula Lester. The first book is called A bottle full of djinn. I’m not really sure which part of the paranormal them would best fit this, so, I decided to put it here. The series takes place in the magical town of Sunnyside California. The main character, Zoey Rivers is a witch, whose in charge of/runs a retirement home for witches. While the majority of the residents and the staff are witches, there’s also a fairy whose the home’s secretary/receptionist, and an elderly demon, a sorcerer, and a genie live at the home as well. In between trying to keep the residents out of trouble, juggling her family, she also solves murders with the help of her residents. That’s why I thought this one should go in the senior sleuths theme also. They’re short reads, 3-5 hours long, so, I’d get the 2 box sets if you read them on Audible.
I have read the first 6 books in the series, and thought they were very funny and entertaining and heartwarming.
While this one isn’t cozy, Darynda Jones has been mentioned on here before. So, I thought I’d go ahead and post this. It’s called Betrixt And Between series and it’s pretty new. The first book is called Betrixt. After a messy devorce that’s left her broke and desperate, the main character Defiance Dayne, gets a letter, requesting her to come to Salem MA. stating that she’s inherited a house from her Grandmother, whom she has little memory of. When she gets there, she realizes that she’s not just a chef, she’s a very powerful witch, and that because of that, she has a target on her back. I listened to this one on Audio as well, while I was getting over COVID. and really enjoyed it.

Jeannie Wycherley has a series of about 15 books called Wonky Inn, featuring a witch named Alfhild Daemonne who owns and operates an inn in a picturesque Devonshire village. There are a few unnumbered special volumes as well. In addition, there is a spinoff series called Wonderland Detective Agency, about a witch detective named Elise Liddell. Alfhild appears as a minor character.

I haven’t actually read any of this series yet, so I can’t say if it’s any good or not. But another series of cozy mystery books that is witch themed is ‘A Farmers’ Market Witch Mystery Series’ by Constance Barker 🙂

This blog is amazing! Cozy mystery is now one of my favourite genres… Rosie Reed should be added to this list. She is the author of Magic Cakes Cafe, so far the serie has 9 books It´s about a young witch living in an English vilage full of magical beings. Soooo good!

And then Hermione and Harry are going to wake up with a very warm, willing Luna in the middle of the bed some morning; and when Hermione objects; Luna can say; "But Hermione; you said I only had to
Indiana jones and the ivory witch

He encounters fierce tribes, deceitful guides, and deadly animals, all of which are determined to stop him from reaching the Ivory Witch. Throughout the story, Jones relies on his quick thinking and physical abilities to overcome these obstacles. One of the key themes of the novel is the concept of folklore and its influence on society. The legend of the Ivory Witch has been passed down through generations, and it holds great significance in the local culture. This theme highlights the power of storytelling and the impact it can have on shaping beliefs and traditions. Jones' character is portrayed as a brave and resourceful adventurer. As the protagonist, he exhibits his expertise in archaeology and demonstrates his determination to fulfill his mission. In addition to his physical prowess, Jones possesses a deep respect for history and a passion for discovering ancient artifacts. Overall, Indiana Jones and the Ivory Witch offers an exciting and action-packed adventure. The novel keeps readers on the edge of their seats as Jones navigates through dangerous situations and encounters unexpected twists and turns. With its blend of myth, mystery, and action, this book appeals to fans of both adventure and fantasy genres..

Reviews for "The Legacy Continues: Indiana Jones and the Ivory Witch"

1. Sandra Fernandez - 2/5 - I was really excited to watch "Indiana Jones and the Ivory Witch" as a fan of adventure movies. However, I was thoroughly disappointed with the execution of the plot. The storyline felt convoluted and lacked the depth and excitement that the previous Indiana Jones movies had. The characters were also poorly developed and the chemistry between them felt forced. Overall, I found the movie to be underwhelming and it didn't live up to my expectations.
2. Mark Thompson - 1/5 - "Indiana Jones and the Ivory Witch" was a complete letdown. The entire movie felt like a mishmash of cliches and predictable plot twists. The action sequences were lackluster and lacked the intensity that we've come to expect from Indiana Jones movies. The villain was forgettable and didn't pose a credible threat. I found myself yawning throughout the film, hoping for something exciting to happen. It's a shame that such a beloved franchise has deteriorated to this level.
3. Emily Johnson - 2/5 - As a long-time fan of the Indiana Jones series, I was extremely disappointed with "Indiana Jones and the Ivory Witch". The movie felt like a cheap imitation of its predecessors, with a weak and uninspiring storyline. The action scenes lacked the thrill and excitement that made the original movies so memorable. Additionally, the new characters introduced in this film failed to capture the charm and charisma of the original cast. Overall, it felt like a cash grab, and I left the theater feeling let down and unsatisfied.
4. Daniel Miller - 3/5 - While "Indiana Jones and the Ivory Witch" was not the strongest entry in the franchise, it still had its moments. The cinematography and set designs were visually appealing, and there were a few action sequences that managed to bring back that sense of adventure that the previous films had. However, the pacing was inconsistent, with some parts dragging on for too long. The storyline also felt predictable and lacked the depth that fans have come to expect. Overall, it was an average addition to the Indiana Jones series, but did not live up to the standards set by its predecessors.
5. Megan Thompson - 2/5 - "Indiana Jones and the Ivory Witch" fell flat for me. The plot felt disjointed, with unnecessary subplots that didn't add much to the overall story. The pacing was off, making the movie feel longer than it actually was. The action scenes were also poorly choreographed, lacking the excitement and precision that we've come to associate with Indiana Jones films. It was a disappointing experience, and I would not recommend it to fans of the franchise.
