The Magic Community's Obsession with Eric Chien: What Sets Him Apart

By admin

Eric Chien is a magician who gained international recognition for his incredible magic tricks and illusions. He was born and raised in Taiwan and started learning magic at a young age. Chien's journey in magic began when he saw his teacher perform a card trick, which inspired him to pursue his passion for illusions. Chien's unique style and innovative techniques set him apart from other magicians. He is known for blending sleight of hand with storytelling, creating a captivating and mesmerizing experience for his audience. His magic tricks often involve playing cards, coins, and other everyday objects, transforming them into something extraordinary.

This is probably the most complicated close-up pad to date.

The anticipation, excitement, and suspense that came with each performance kept audiences on the edge of their seats, eagerly awaiting the judges reactions. Eric is the first act since Season 13 Quarterfinalist The Sacred Riana that has won Asia s Got Talent before to audition, with The Sacred Riana winning Season 2 and Eric winning Season 3.

His magic tricks often involve playing cards, coins, and other everyday objects, transforming them into something extraordinary. One of Chien's most notable performances was on the reality TV show "Asia's Got Talent" in 2019. His act left both the judges and viewers in awe as he seamlessly manipulated a deck of cards, making them appear, disappear, and transform right before their eyes.

It looks really good!

Wow. I mean, from an ingenuity standpoint, this is truly incredible.

The main considerations to me are:
1) As noted on the KS preview page, it does make a a bit of noise for about a second apparently.

2)As noted on the KS preview page, Suspicious evidence "marks" on the close up pad could be a thing

3) With something as sophisticated as this, how will the electronics hold up?

4) Price! $299 backer price + $70 shipping (then it goes to retail for $450 + ship). though I suppose I've spent more on smaller, less sophisticated items!

5) Not sure but you most likely are limited to the provided glasses (or at least the shot glass)?

Tough call as being in on this first saves you quite a bit of $$$. but it seems like a risky/ambitious project. Indeed, it may be a bit over engineered for my needs. I may instead give another consideration to a more low tech option like Roller Coaster.

Still, this looks quite amazing, no question about it.

All good points. Looks cool but not really practical for the real world given most people perform strolling.

There are far better and more entertaining coin routines out there that don't require a big chunky board to perform or carry around. That's a lot of money for a suspicious looking prop in this day and age.

I agree but the effect is very, very impressive, especially for those of us who lack the chops to do that stuff without gimmicks. I'm tempted but very concerned about an artificial-looking prop.

I'm sure it's a nice mat that can be used for other card/coin routines. And it does look amazing. However since they say:

"Due to the extremely limited interior space and strict control of how thin the pad can be, more than 40 components had to be carefully designed to fit efficiently.

This is probably the most complicated close-up pad to date.

From the idea conception to the final production, it took nearly 16 months, three redesigns and reworkings, and dozens of optimization and improvement tests.

Due to the complex structure and high precision requirements, even at the mass production stage, more than 50% of the construction and assembly processes need to be completed individually by hand."

I too would be very concerned about how long the mechanics and electronics will last and whether it is at all repairable. How long before you end up with a $400 mat? And with a non-foldable, somewhat delicate mat, you have a close-up effect that almost needs to be performed as a parlor effect unless you have some very favorable conditions.

This item was on sale late 2020 or early 2021 in China for a while, all I can see is a lot of complains about the noises, then this product got taken down from the shelf and. reappear here.

Virtually the same as N-Pad in which I stated that you may have noise issues as these are obviously mechanical in working.

My friend have it and shown me last month. I found the mechanic running noise is so big that you cannot perform it close up.
Especially that coin drop sound you can hear it over 10 feet!!

Sharpace are you referring to N-pad or portal?

Is it just me or does the N-Pad look a bit like someone framed a door mat? The TCC thing looks way better. Its not for me, but it looks like a fun thing to play with, and knowing the TCC guys it will no doubt be well made.

N-Pad looks like a carpet tile to me. But it seems more versatile than Portal since it is claimed to work with cards, keys, and rings as well as coins. Also the N-Pad trailer suggests there are multiple portals - though that may just be careful video editing.

The main question for me, however, with both pads, is about noise - especially at vanish and in transit. I’d like that answered clearly.

Yes I thought exactly the same. Lol.

So, they already released it last year and it is on kickstarter now?

Too bad that it looks good, but doesn't "sound" good.

They missed badly with quality control on the Deluxe Linking Rings by Michael Ammar. Read the forum, it was hit or miss on linking rings. Whats the chance of getting something like this right. Your not dealing with Collectors Workshop here.

I’ve liked all my TCC stuff to date but agree this is too much of a gamble. Not to mention the $70 shipping fee.

As each act unfolded, viewers were transported into a world where the impossible became possible, and the ordinary defied explanation. From classic card tricks to grand stage illusions, the show presented a diverse array of magical performances that catered to every taste and preference.

Reviews for "Eric Chien's Global Impact: Inspiring a New Generation of Magicians"

1. John - 1/5 stars - I was really disappointed with Eric Chien's magic performance. I found his tricks to be very predictable and unimaginative. The execution of his illusions was also lacking finesse, and it was obvious to me how they were done. Overall, I believe his act was overhyped and lacked originality.
2. Sarah - 2/5 stars - I had high expectations for Eric Chien's magic show, but I left feeling underwhelmed. While some of his tricks were impressive, the majority of them seemed repetitive and lacked innovation. It felt like I had seen similar tricks performed by other magicians before. Additionally, his stage presence and charisma were lacking, which made the overall experience less enjoyable for me.
3. Alex - 1/5 stars - I didn't enjoy Eric Chien's magic performance at all. The tricks he performed felt very amateurish and poorly executed. There were several instances where it was clear to me how he was deceiving the audience, and it ruined the sense of wonder and mystery that magic should evoke. I would not recommend his show to anyone looking for a truly captivating magic experience.
4. Emily - 2/5 stars - I was not impressed with Eric Chien's magic show. While he had some creative ideas, many of his tricks fell flat and lacked the wow factor I was expecting. It was evident that he relied heavily on gimmicks and props, which took away from the authenticity and skill that I appreciate in magic performances. In my opinion, there are far better magicians out there worth watching.
