Contemptuous Magic 8 Ball: You Won't Believe These Eye-Rolling Responses!

By admin

Contemptuous magic 8 ball replies have become popular in recent years as a form of humor on social media. The magic 8 ball is a toy that is designed to provide random answers to questions. However, some individuals have taken to creating their own responses that are meant to be sarcastic or contemptuous instead of providing genuine advice. These responses often poke fun at the questioner or give snarky remarks as opposed to being helpful or insightful. One example of a contemptuous magic 8 ball reply might be if someone were to ask, "Will I ever find love?" and the 8 ball responds with, "Not if you keep asking stupid questions." This type of reply is meant to be humorous and give a playful jab at the person asking the question.

If you want a dex based character, this will be your strongest ranged attack, so even if you don't really want it as your main weapon, it's still very handy to have equipped.

Bolt of Gransax | Elden Ring Wiki

Bolt of Gransax is a Spear in Elden Ring. The Bolt of Gransax scales primarily with Strength and Dexterity and is a potent Lightning-imbued Weapon to hunt down dragon-like enemies or engage dangerous foes from afar.

Spear whittled from the weapon wielded by Gransax.
One of the legendary armaments.

A great ancient dragon, Gransax once rained calamity upon the Royal Capital - the only time in historical record that Leyndell's walls have fallen. This marked the dawn of the war against dragons.

Where to Find Bolt of Gransax in Elden Ring

The Bolt of Gransax weapon can be found at the following location:

  • Can be found in Leyndell, Royal Capital, after beating Godfrey, First Elden Lord (Golden Shade): From the Erdtree Sanctuary grace, walk out the western door, take the elevator down, go down the staircase to the walkway, jump down onto the giant spear lodged into the building, and then walk up it (you should see the Bolt shining near the handle of the giant spear). [Elden Ring Map Link]
    • Additionally, the spear can be obtained upon first entry of Leyndell, Royal Capital, without having killed the Godfrey shade: From the East Capital Rampart Gate grace, go out the western door, follow the path south to the lift, ride it down, climb up the ladder inside the room ahead, go southwest onto the patio with two Perfumers, jump over the southwest railing onto the walkway below, go west along the pathway until you reach the railing around the giant spear on your left, make a running jump from the broken railing to the roof of the gazebo, make a running jump southwest onto the far right side of the ledge below the spear (this is hard, you need to jump from the right side of the roof and about halfway down—instead of the edge—to have enough height; you can head northwest to the stairs to try again if you miss), jump up the giant spear (carefully, there are several opportunities to fall), collect weapon.

Great weapon for pve although over powered. I like it in pvp as invader too although good players will dodge easy. But if they do miss time it , bye bye. I pair it with cross naginata in pvp . Don't really need the special skill. I don't duel much, but probably not great in that setting, but seems about 2 builds are usuable in arena anyway. For ganks sitting around grace. Use finger severer and tell them to FO.

You don't need to defeat Godfrey's ghost. Hook right from the Grace, go into the alley between the large stairs and another building. There's a gazebo you can jump to behind a broken railing, and you can jump from that onto a thin ledge that lets you get up to the Bolt's location.

By Nigerian's might, why make this the only legendary armament that is missable? From where does FromSoftware get these game design philosophies.

I can't fathom who in their right mind decided that lightning damage should be split between dex and faith in this game, I mean they made the top level bestial incantation have a mere 15 faith requirment and gave it a seal that scaled well with strength but didn't make the dragon cult seal scale with dex at all and the most basic of dragon cult incantations requires 15 faith with that scaling all the way up to 47, but then lighning damage on weapons and with AoWs scales off dex so to actually use a lightning weapon with lightning incantations you need 40 dex and 40 faith but to make a strength build with bestial incantations at the same level you could happily do 65 strenght and 15 faith with much better scaling on both your weapon and your incantations, they had a template there to make lightning builds great but instead chose to screw us over like they always do.

5 +1 3 -1 Submit Anonymous WHY IS FAITH NOT A REQUIREMENT HERE. RED LIGHTING IS LOCKED BEHIND FAITH MANNNN 18 +1 2 -1 Submit Anonymous

Kinda wierd that a skill this good for pve is so bad in pvp. Most of the time it just goes through them in close-range, and no one is getting hit by this at medium to long range. in a duel its basically only good for punishing slow attacks.

    3 +1 3 -1 Submit Anonymous

Ppl is fixated so much in it's weapon skill that it forgets it's one of the best spears out there regardless of it. 2nd longest reach, absurd damage, guard boost comparable to halberds, medium weight. seriously, if you only use it for the weapon skill then you're missing a lot.

I love needing to waste 8.5 pounds of my equip load and a **** ton of str and dex to be able to use the better lightning spear, which has no incant or fth variant and is stuck to a slow pokey chunk of metal.

“From is catering to fth too much!” Okay so why does holy suck and have like three spells that deal holy damage while the only other viable type is fire cus it actually gets fth scaling weapons? Lightning in this game objectively is not well designed, because you either go semi-lightning or split your stats and lose stat synergy cus dex has minimal cast speed improvement but zero damage for incants and fth has zero effect on the weapons used by the cult that worships lightning which is literally imbued with gold and comes from the elden ring itself. ****, even str got to have an actual tangible impact on spell damage via clawmark seal, yet the lightning seal, the type half of elden ring insists has some arbitrary tie to dexterity, has zero dex scaling. So does lightning have nothing to do with faith or everything? Make up your mind, holy ****.

This doesn't scale with Faith for lore reasons. From the Ancient Dragonbolt Pot item description: "Allows one to wield ancient drake lightning regardless of faith. The residual power of relics is a purely natural phenomenon."

I also need to get this off my chest and I guess this as good a place as any. FromSoft doesn't put gameplay first when considering balance. I know you're not allowed to say you enjoy the writing online, but to the devs these games are role-playing games and thus narrative-driven experiences. Rememeber when they added miniscule Faith scaling to the Great Club? Pretty ridiculous decision on their part. That is until you consider what I just said. It's a branch of the Erdtree that is "imbued with holy power," thus Faith should strengthen it. This was so important to them that they went out of their way to adjust it.

So in the future whenever you find a certain weapon or spell useless, or its scaling weird, remember that the devs have different priorities than what you might expect.

Some people seem to not understand what is the difference between STR and DEX. DEX is not agility, a DEX scaling just means that the weapon is more refined and needs actual dexterity to be used, whereas a STR weapon needs just raw brutal force. A quality weapon, like a greatsword, usually needs both and it fits perfectly.

Since dragons and ancient dragons are resistant to lightning, this could imply that Gransax killed his own kind. It makes sense, since Godwyn allied with some of them. Maybe he was even killing and cannibalizing his kind before the war, which could explain how he already had the bolt.

I swear this thing has some hidden 'aggro' mechanics. Fighting birds with my summons in Caelid? They didn't care I was spamming the AoW, only focused my summon. Summoned to Godfrey as a finger? I could not peel him with the AoW no matter how close I stood. I'm starting to wonder if the AoW itself doesn't register as the same 'source' as other things my character does -- i.e. mobs were treating it like environmental damage or something?

The AoW benefits from Lightning Scorpion Charm, Shard of Alexander, and Godfrey Icon because it's chargeable.

The ash of war on this is bit too costly for what you get from it, A +25 Keen Great Knife with Thunderbolt can outperform this on a FP/damage ratio and is much faster to perform and vastly cheaper stamina wise. For a Legendary Armament to be outperformed by a generic dagger in it's unique aspect is a bit of a let down. If this costed 20FP it would at least be competitive enough to be interchangeable but currently if your target doesn't suffer knockdown from the charged shots then just use a great knife and and find a high DPS offhand weapon to use with the now free 7 units of weight.

Highly recommended for average and below average players.
Probably the most OP weapon in PvE. Has a lot of potential in PvP as well. Late game, nothing can stand in your way.
I used it on the very first playthrough i ever did.
Chose it for the drip, kept it for the weapon art/skill.

That lightning bolt ability is what makes this spear the best weapon in my opinion. Very few enemies can dodge the bolt and it hits like a truck (can knockdown enemies off their feet).
You can keep your distance with the enemies and snipe them from range. Very helpful if you are not good at dodge roll timing. Most of the toughest mobs go down in 2 shots, once you are lvl 120+.

For talismans i used Radagon soreseal, carian filigreed crest, shard of Alexander. For the 4th use ancestral spirit horn (at lower levels) or Godfrey icon / lightning scorpion charm (late game when you have enough Flasks for FP)

    Stats focus:
Primary - dex, vigor and mind.
    Secondary - endurance and strength.

I used brass shield in off hand (with Ash of war : no skill) for guard counters when dealing with weak mobs if I don't want to waste FP on ability. Spear + shield = pokey pokey goodness.

P.S. For Majority of the players, Malenia is the toughest boss fight, but with this weapon, she is an absolute joke. She cannot dodge the bolt ability. Beat her on my very first try. Was like lvl 150 ish when I did.

Jon Heder briefly, inexplicably became a star on the strength of his deeply annoying portrayal of slack-jawed dweeb Napoleon Dynamite. Some audiences believed this act to be some kind of absurdist work of art; a kissing cousin of Bill Murray and Gilda Radner’s nerd characters on “Saturday Night Live." It’s comedy. Your mileage may vary. But if “Napoleon Dynamite” is not for you, it is very much not for you.
