Adders are frequently seen around Curbar. They are often very well camoflaged so it's worth keeping an eye out when moving into new areas, picking up kit etc as a bite, although not life threatening to most healthy adults can still be nasty.

Ticks are abundant due to a large population of red deer. take care, particularly if passing through bracken below the crag.

Sad isn't i that a lot of cartoons these days just don't compare to these classics. I can remember my mother telling me how she used to watch it, that was when i happened to be watching it too.

I watched loads of this stuff during the 90s. You'll be hard pressed to find it on TV now days. Shame. The only ones from that era kids know today will be Scooby Doo and maybe the Flintstones.

Wasn't that "The Adventures of Dogtanian and the Three Muskehounds", to give it its full title? Anyway, Ulysses 31 and Mysterious Cities of Gold are both available on DVD, if you want to go on a nostalgia trip!

The Cities of Gold show would have made a good film I think, somewhere along the lines of Tomb Raider or Indiana Jones. I've heard that there was a sequel to the show in the works as well.

Why can't you buy these shows on DVD? You can buy sonic's old shows but not these.

or even the other crap like
Centurions
MASK
Visionaries ~ Knights of the Magical Light
She-ra
The Transformers
GoBots
Pole Possition
Muppet Babies

Of course I loved most of the above at some point, but,, they really haven't aged well.

Some of the stuff I remember seems like it came from a different era. In fact some of it was from a different era and being re-run for the umpteenth time. Shouts for:

Mr Benn
The Clangers
Bagpuss
Ivor the Engine
Trumpton
Chigley
Camberwick Green
Magic Roundabout
Mary, Mungo and Midge
Paddington
Top Cat
Noggin the Nog

On the original topic, I seem to remember thinking HKP was OK though looking at it now I can't for the life of me work out why. Some of the others that people have mentioned I disliked with a passion, even at that age. Oh, and Rupert the Bear gave me the creeps.

I have vauge memories of a lot of that CBJ, and although they're not cartoons, it would be wrong to forget the likes of Thunderbirds and Captain Scarlet.

Speaking of the magical torch, it had its own character as well. It was voiced by actor Phil Hartman, and it played a significant role in the show. The torch had the ability to transport Jamie to the fantastical world of Cuckoo Land, where he would encounter various creatures and solve problems.

Cast of jamie and the magic torch

One of the notable characters in Cuckoo Land was a talking caterpillar named Wordsworth, voiced by actor Jimmy Hibbert. Wordsworth was Jamie's loyal and wise companion who often provided guidance and advice during their adventures. Another important character was a talking dog named Mr. Boo, voiced by actor Brian Trueman. Mr. Boo was Jamie's pet dog in the real world, but in Cuckoo Land, he transformed into a much larger and more talkative dog. He often joined Jamie and Wordsworth on their quests. The antagonist of the show was a witch named Mrs. Gotobed, voiced by actress Sheila Walker. Mrs. Gotobed was known for causing trouble and trying to disrupt Jamie's adventures. However, with the help of his magical torch and friends, Jamie always found a way to outsmart her. Overall, the cast of Jamie and the Magic Torch brought the characters to life and captivated young viewers with their adventures in different worlds. The show remains a beloved part of British television history and continues to be cherished by generations of fans..

Reviews for "The Impact of 'Jamie and the Magic Torch' on the Animation Industry: How its Cast Broke New Ground"

1. Name: Sarah
Rating: 1/5
Review: I really did not enjoy watching "Jamie and the Magic Torch". The animation quality was poor, and the storyline was confusing and lacking any depth. The characters also felt very one-dimensional, with no real development throughout the series. Overall, I found it to be a waste of time and would not recommend it to others.
2. Name: John
Rating: 2/5
Review: "Jamie and the Magic Torch" had so much potential, but it failed to deliver. The show seemed to be aimed at a much younger audience, with simplistic dialogue and predictable plots. The visuals were outdated, even for its time, and the voice acting fell flat. I was disappointed by the lack of creativity and originality in the show, and it felt like a missed opportunity to create something truly engaging.
3. Name: Mike
Rating: 2.5/5
Review: While "Jamie and the Magic Torch" had some charming aspects, it ultimately fell short for me. The episodes felt repetitive, with Jamie always finding himself in similar situations and using his magic torch to get out of trouble. The humor also didn't land for me, as it felt forced and lacked wit. Overall, it had its moments, but I wouldn't consider it a must-watch series for anyone seeking quality children's entertainment.
