Once upon a time, in a small village nestled at the foot of a majestic mountain, lived a young girl named Caroline. She was known for her kind heart, curious mind, and love for adventure. What’s even worse than the visuals is the writing. Where to begin? I HATED all of the characters in this movie. They range from painfully dull to downright infuriating to watch. I’ve seen all of the archetypes of these characters in much better movies. The slugs in particular were rage-inducing. Aside from being a complete waste of screen-time, they are a poor man’s minions done ten times worse. Just dreadful.
After her younger sister is chosen to take part, 16-year-old Katniss Everdeen volunteers to compete in her place in a cruel televised tournament in which 24 teenagers from a postapocalyptic society fight to the death for the entertainment of the masses in a competition known as the Hunger Games, which are broadcast across the nation as entertainment, and to reinforce the government s total power.
