Thanks to the volunteer work I do with the Scouts, I choose to hang on to my old pickup truck long a fter most folks would have sent it packing. It's not much to look at, but gets our gear back and forth to and from camp. Better still, I really don't care when I have to squeeze through a small gap in the brush or if I bottom out on a two track in the back of camp. The truck is in good shape on the inside, but the outside only gets cleaned when it rains. In other words, the once shiny aluminum wheels probably have not been shiny for the past 10+ years. You can see that in my first photo. Photo 2 shows the result of an application of the Black Magic Wheel Cleaner. I'd like to tell you that I just sprayed the stuff on and rinsed it off. But the results you can see in the second picture took a second application and a little scrubbing. I assumed none of the accumulated tarnish would come off, but almost all of it disappeared. I am sure if I had tried a third application and some additional scrubbing, they would look like new. It almost makes me want to wash the rest of the truck!
I took that to mean it could be sprayed on, left for 1-2 minutes per the instructions and then just rinsed with the hose and not use a sprayer on the hose. Granted, my wheels are black and you don t see the grime that easily, you could see it all rinse away with the water, and then the shine after was mesmerizing.
